Job Summary
We’re looking for a Software Engineer in Test (SET) to join our growing team in the Philippines and play a critical role in elevating the quality and reliability of ZonePayroll, our SuiteApp built on NetSuite. In this role, you’ll help formalize our QA practice, define scalable testing processes, and directly contribute to delivering a high-quality product that supports companies in paying their employees accurately, on time, and in compliance with local laws.
You’ll join a small but impactful QA team with high visibility across the engineering organization. This is a unique opportunity to influence how testing is done at scale, work on both manual and automated testing efforts, and make a tangible difference to hundreds of customers across the globe.
What You'll Do:
General QA Ownership

Establish and maintain quality assurance best practices across our SuiteApps, starting with ZonePayroll

Design and execute test plans using Cypress.io (or similar tools) and manage test artifacts in Qase

Partner with Product Owners and Engineers to define, create, and execute test cases

Maintain and expand automated regression test suites

Own release sign-off and ensure production readiness
Sprint Execution

Lead manual and automated testing activities during sprints

Work with Product Owners to prioritize test cases and determine which to automate

Maintain and enhance test coverage in Cypress.io and organize tests within Qase

Coordinate test cycles with QA peers and communicate test results with stakeholders
Quality & Process Improvement

Reduce dependency on Product Owners for manual testing by embedding QA into sprint workflows

Help implement an Escaped Bugs metric to minimize defects in UAT and production

Support process standardization as part of a global QA team
Collaboration & Documentation

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria

Track and document bugs using Jira and share QA insights through Confluence

Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement efforts
Product & Domain Knowledge

Develop deep understanding of payroll, accounting, and finance workflows in NetSuite

Attend live demos, review product documentation, and explore the product firsthand

Leverage your insights to improve both the product and the QA process
What You Bring
-
3–5 years of experience in software QA or as a Software Engineer in Test (SET), ideally in a SaaS environment

Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Cypress.io

Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript with strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles

Experience working with REST/SOAP APIs, SQL, and familiarity with frontend frameworks like React

Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, debugging, and defect isolation

Familiarity with test case management tools (e.g., Qase) and issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira)

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote-first team
-
Experience in ERP, HRIS, Payroll, Finance, or CRM systems is highly desirable
