Your mission
You will be a founding member of the Embodied AI team at Wandelbots. You will lead the technical strategy and execution for exploring and enabling new robotic form factors — humanoids, quadrupeds, drones, mobile platforms and more — on our Wandelbots NOVA platform.

Your mission is to kick off building a high-performing, cross-functional team that pushes the boundaries of embodied AI and delivers real, deployable innovation. You'll drive architecture decisions, oversee engineering execution, and work closely with the NOVA Domain focused on industrial robots to add significant value to the Wandelbots NOVA platform. At the same time, you will have the ability to dig into the first customer projects and drive the strategy and execution hands-on.
Your profile
  • Strong robotics engineering background, with hands-on experience in building and deploying robotic systems
  • Proven experience as an engineering manager or technical team lead, ideally in a startup, R&D, or cross-functional environment
  • Deep knowledge of robot control architectures, real-time systems, and motion planning
  • Familiarity with AI integration in robotics, including perception pipelines and basic ML control loops
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (architecture, testing, CI/CD, modularity)
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, grow, and mentor a high-caliber team
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment
  • Excellent communication skills — fluent in both technical detail and strategic alignment with stakeholders
You are awesome if:
  • You’ve worked with humanoids, quadrupeds, drones, or other non-standard form factors in real-world scenarios
  • You’ve integrated systems using platforms like ROS2, Jetson, or NVIDIA Isaac Sim / Omniverse
  • You’ve led teams at the intersection of AI and control systems, ideally involving LLMs or VLMs in robotics workflows
  • You have experience working on multi-robot orchestration, fleet systems, or edge-to-cloud communication
  • You bring systems thinking, are comfortable bridging hardware, software, and ML, and thrive in early-stage explorations

Imagine a world with more room to unleash our unique cognitive strengths at work. A world where all people – whether craftsmans, blue-collars worker or engineers – have access to automation technologies that perform inhuman, monotonous and high-precision tasks much more efficiently than we do.

At Wandelbots, we're fundamentally reshaping the way to work with robots. We eliminate the complexity and develop easy-to-use solutions to speed up automation and empower everyone to work with industrial robots and beyond.

Mission

2017 founded, Wandelbots employs more than 100 people from 14 countries today. From our headquarters in Dresden Germany, we are giving our heart and soul to follow our mission, to empower everybody to easily work with robots.
