About the Role
Veeam is seeking a talented, motivated Senior Inside Systems Engineer to join our dynamic Systems Engineering team and help drive our continued growth in one of the world’s most virtualised and cloud-forward markets. You'll play a critical role in helping customers and partners understand the value of Veeam’s modern approach to data protection, cyber resilience and data intelligence.
The Senior Inside Systems Engineer works closely with the Inside Sales department and is responsible for informing, educating, and evangelising our product offerings to partners, resellers, and end users. Responsibilities include the ability to present Veeam messaging to varying numbers and levels of decision makers. You will be responsible for creating content and delivering demonstrations to support Veeam messaging. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, technically competent Veeam Senior Inside Systems Engineer with an ability to partner with other groups within the sales and support organisation to close sales. The role requires strengths and a background in defining architectural strategies to guide customers toward the adoption of Veeam technologies
This work-from-home or hybrid technical role can be based in any of Veeam’s Australia/New Zealand territories and is ideal for someone passionate about technology, eager to grow their presales career, and motivated to become a Veeam evangelist while providing exceptional technical expertise.
What You’ll Do
- Position Veeam products in partnership with sales teams to identify, qualify, and win new business opportunities with partners and end users, helping to exceed sales goals.
- Manage the technical evaluation stage of the sales process as a main technical advisor for Veeam solutions
- Deliver engaging, web-based and occasional on-site demonstrations of Veeam solutions to prospects, partners, and customers.
- Implement and manage Proof of Concepts (POCs) to technical closure.
- Act as a technical advisor and advocate for Veeam, providing pre-sales support and technical expertise.
- Support lead generation activities, such as events, webinars, and user groups.
- Respond to technical queries and RFPs on the Veeam solution stack.
- Remove technical barriers to the sales process and help customers achieve their business objectives.
- Provide technical account management for SMB and mid-market customers.
- Track and manage activities through CRM systems (Salesforce).
- Collect and relay customer feedback to product and development teams.
- Create and deliver technical presentations and training to partners and internal teams.
- Provide training to internal (Veeam) and external (partner/customer) stakeholders.
- Share technical knowledge across the organisation and community.
- Take ownership of professional and career development goals.
- Stay current with Veeam product developments, industry trends, and best practices.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience working in a pre-sales role for an IT Software vendor or partner.
- Familiarity at a technical level of Veeam Data Cloud and Veeam Data Platform technologies.
- Proven experience with virtualisation and cloud-native technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Familiarity with backup, recovery, and data management solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Veritas, Rubrik, etc. preferred).
- Good understanding of AI and cyber security concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (a combination of education and experience considered).
- Ability to adapt to changes in roles and responsibilities
- Excellent time management skills required
- Deployment of software solutions into complex environments
- Experience with SaaS platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Salesforce) is a plus
- Professional certifications (VMCE, VCP, Azure, AWS) are highly regarded.
- Strong presentation skills across remote and in-person platforms (Teams, Zoom, webinars, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident in presenting to varied audiences.
- Self-starter able to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Understanding of IT project business drivers and solution selling strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness to travel within the region (up to 15%).
