As the Sr. Director of Global Compensation, you will play a critical leadership role within Veeam’s Total Rewards team. Reporting directly to the VP of Total Rewards, you will lead the design, execution, and evolution of a global compensation framework that supports our talent acquisition goals and strengthens employee engagement in a competitive market.

In close collaboration with People Partners and the Talent Acquisition team, you will serve as the subject matter expert on compensation strategy. You will advise stakeholders and clients on key initiatives and lead programs related to compensation planning, benchmarking, job architecture, performance management, cost modeling, annual compensation cycles, M&A activity, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic, competitive compensation practices across the company’s global workforce, including salary structures, incentive plans, and equity initiatives
  • Lead design and administration of compensation programs, including annual salary reviews, short- and long-term incentives, equity refreshes, and promotions
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to evaluate new or changing roles (e.g., transfers, promotions), determine appropriate classifications, titles, and compensation to minimize workforce disruption
  • Review and ensure compensation adjustments align with internal policies and applicable federal/state/global regulations
  • Recommend corrective or alternative actions to address compensation-related issues
  • Conduct cost modeling and impact analysis for proposed new programs or program changes
  • Deliver data-driven insights and compensation guidance to business leaders and People Partners
  • Partner with HR Technology to maintain the company’s job architecture and compensation structures and programs within Workday and adjacent systems
  • Lead the company’s participation in compensation surveys and analyze results to assess competitiveness of programs and pay equity reporting requirements
  • Develop and deliver easily digestible compensation education content and tools for TAPs, HRBPs, Management, and employees
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a lean global team of compensation professionals
  • Provide compensation support during mergers and acquisitions

Position Requirements

  • Proven ability to design and implement compensation strategies for a globally dispersed workforce
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic-to-operational mindset
  • In-depth knowledge of Radford survey methodology and practices
  • High attention to detail and strong judgment in handling sensitive, confidential, and time-sensitive matters
  • Demonstrated influential leadership and relationship building skills
  • Strong project management and decision-making skills; must be hands-on and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex data clearly
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership
  • Passion for innovation, best practices, and change leadership
  • Self-starter who thrives both independently and in a collaborative team setting
  • Experience with Workday HCM and Advanced Compensation

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or a related field (MS or MBA preferred)
  • At least 10 years of experience leading compensation programs in large, global technology organizations (public and private), including management responsibilities
  • Deep understanding of current market trends, best practices, and a strong network in the compensation space

The salary range posted is On Target Earnings (OTE), which is inclusive of base and variable pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.
