The Team & Role
Own Gem’s Top of Funnel AI products, including large-scale candidate search and retrieval systems used daily by thousands of recruiters, with end-to-end responsibility from problem definition through launch and iteration.
- Own search, retrieval, and AI-driven discovery experiences at scale
- Drive product strategy for one of Gem’s most important growth areas
- Partner deeply with engineering to make tradeoffs across relevance, latency, cost, and user experience in AI-powered workflows
- Translate recruiter intent into clear outcomes through intelligent systems
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:
- Turn customer insights and data into clear problem statements and product opportunities
- Define and maintain a roadmap that balances customer value, technical constraints, and long-term strategy
- Collaborate with design to validate concepts through prototypes and user testing
- Monitor product performance through metrics and customer feedback, and iterate accordingly
- Lead cross-functional coordination for launches, including internal enablement and documentation
About You:
- 8+ years of experience as a product manager in B2B SaaS
- Experience building or owning AI-powered products, especially in search, retrieval, ranking, or content discovery
- Ability to write evals that define high-quality results
- Interested in the latest AI advancements and using AI tools in your daily workflows
- Proven ownership of ambiguous, zero-to-one or major iteration products with measurable customer impact
- Comfort partnering deeply with engineers on technical tradeoffs that materially affect product quality and outcomes
- A track record of setting product strategy and direction, not just executing predefined roadmaps

Role Details
- Location: This role is based 3 days per week out of our San Francisco HQ and is not eligible for full-time remote work.
- Compensation: The annual cash compensation range for this position is $220,000–$250,000 based on level in addition to equity & benefits.
