Context of the role

The Treasury team is responsible for all aspects of International Cash & Liquidity Management, Cashflow forecasting, Working Capital management and Foreign Exchange. The Treasury department is a friendly team-based environment that values interaction and exchange of ideas and knowledge.

The FX Officer role is based in the Singapore office, reporting to the FX Manager, and working closely with the rest of the team in Singapore, Beijing, Barcelona, Athens, Nairobi and Ecuador.

Key Responsibilities

• FX Execution Trading
  • Manage trading desk FX execution flow with pay in and pay out partners, including G10 and EM currencies and crosses. Confirm credit of funds at the pay-out point and release pay in transactions upon confirmation; book and confirm executed deals.
  • Monitor pay out partner FX costs to assure adherence to pricing agreements.
  • Daily reconciliation of trades executed to ensure completeness on both buy and sell side.

• FX Technology and Systems
  • Work with the Treasury Product Owner and Development Teams to familiarise and maintain the end-to-end flow of the FX trading process.
  • Provide suggestions to improve, enhance the systems and procedures required to make the trading desk model more scalable and to assure an excellent user experience for partners as well as the various Thunes teams.

• FX and Banking Partnerships
  • Assess FX market conditions and rate regimes and controls in countries where Thunes operates
  • Identify and onboard new banks and FX partners to help improve both FX costs and flow of funds

Professional qualifications/Experience

• The candidate will have 2+ years of experience in a Treasury or similar role with exposure to FX trade execution and processing
• Strong interest in FX global financial markets with some knowledge of market fundamentals and market analysis.
• Some experience in a FX system, reporting and performance of FX trade analysis
• Understanding of cross border payments a plus
• Strong understanding of FX as a part of treasury business
• Highly motivated with excellent analytical skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-cultural fintech environment
• Team player with the ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple parties
• Good communication skills, as the role will entail significant interaction with corporate partners
• Curious mindset and can-do attitude
• Able to demonstrate a logical approach and innovative thinking
