About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Head of Implementation Engineering to lead our solutions delivery and API integration engineering efforts. You will play a pivotal role in how our platform is adopted and integrated by our partners and customers — shaping the technical experience and ensuring seamless implementations of our payment solutions.

You’ll be leading a global high-impact team of engineers focused on API integrations with customers, helping to move our tech stack forward while bringing strong computer science fundamentals and coding expertise to the table. This is not a pure management role — we need someone who leads by example and can code alongside the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Solutions Delivery Engineering function, managing and mentoring a team of globally distributed engineers.
• Oversee and actively contribute to the design, development, and delivery of API integrations for customers.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to ensure technical success across all integrations.
• Champion the migration away from legacy technologies (.NET, Perl) towards more modern and scalable architecture with Golang.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for strategic customers, bringing both strong communication skills and engineering credibility.
• Build scalable processes and frameworks to support ongoing customer onboarding and solution delivery.
• As a senior member of the Engineering team and sitting on the Thunes Senior Leadership team, contribute towards our global Engineering strategy and roadmap.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience
• Proven experience as a successful Engineering Manager / Lead
• Proven experience in implementation/integration engineering, ideally in high-growth SaaS or payments/fintech environments.
• Strong proficiency in Golang (or serious hands-on experience with a passion to deepen expertise).
• Exposure to .NET and Perl is helpful, particularly if you’ve been involved in moving away from legacy stacks.
• Background in Computer Science, with a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals — algorithms, data structures, systems architecture etc
• Comfortable writing and reviewing production code, while also leading and scaling a team.
• Excellent communication skills and experience engaging with customers on technical topics.
• Based in Paris, France.
• Fluent in English and French
