About the team:

You will be joining Gravity - our Core Platform team - the foundation that powers Sift's Digital Trust & Safety platform. We build the shared components, abstractions, and infrastructure that other engineering teams rely on to ship faster and smarter. Our customers are internal: we measure success by how much easier we make everyone else's job, and by keeping the platform maintainable, cost-effective, and built to last.

This role is intentionally full-stack. We need someone who can follow a problem wherever it lives - whether that's deep in backend logic or in a frontend component

BE Technical stack: Java, Dropwizard, GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka, BigTable, Spanner Graph DB, Postgres, Redis, gRPC, Python, Apache Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery

FE Technical stack: ReactJS

What you’ll do:

• Design and evolve highly scalable, distributed platform components that can reliably serve as shared building blocks across Sift’s ecosystem, even under heavy load

• Deliver engineering solutions that address complex, cross-cutting customer and platform needs at scale, reducing the effort required for product teams to ship features

• Collaborate closely with engineers within Gravity and partner teams to introduce and maintain shared services, data models, and libraries that multiple teams depend on

• Continuously improve our platform engineering practices, tooling, and guardrails to simplify secure, compliant, and cost-effective operation of core systems

What would make you a strong fit:

• 5+ years of experience building distributed backend systems using Java;

• 3+ years experience designing/delivering highly-available services;

• 2+ years of experience building React-based FE applications, preferable platform areas

• Experience with data pipelines

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Strong communication & collaboration skills - a team-first, product-first mindset
