About the role
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer who is passionate about building and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role that will have a direct impact on the stability and efficiency of our engineering processes and production environments.
As a key member of the DevOps Engineering team, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners to design, implement, and improve infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security practices. You’ll also play a pivotal role in mentoring fellow engineers and driving a DevOps-first culture across the organization
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI to support seamless application development and deployment.
- Own and automate cloud infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible, ensuring consistency, repeatability, and compliance across environments.
- Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud environments (primarily AWS and/or GCP) with a focus on availability, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Lead the containerization strategy using Docker and manage orchestration with Kubernetes (EKS or GKE), ensuring reliable and scalable deployments.
- Build and maintain a robust observability stack (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenSearch/ELK) to monitor performance, health, and security across systems. Proactively identify and resolve operational issues.
- Integrate security best practices into the CI/CD lifecycle, including SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning tools. Champion a security-first culture across the DevOps lifecycle.
- Proactively manage and remediate vulnerabilities (e.g., CVEs) by tracking, assessing, and documenting them. Lead technical root cause analysis and conduct threat modeling exercises to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop clean, maintainable scripts in Python, Bash, or Go to automate routine tasks, reduce manual effort, and improve system reliability
- Act as a trusted advisor to development teams, providing guidance on system architecture, operational readiness, and best practices. Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative DevOps culture.
- Participate in diagnosing and resolving critical production incidents. Lead blameless post-mortems and continuously improve incident response processes.
- Identify areas for optimization, innovation, or technical debt reduction. Lead or participate in strategic engineering initiatives and other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Engineering role.
- Expert-level knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including infrastructure design, deployment, and optimization.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform (Pulumi or Ansible a plus).
- Deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines, especially with tools like GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
- Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS or GKE preferred) in production environments.
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
- Proficient with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK/OpenSearch.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, DNS, and load balancers.
- Familiarity with GitOps practices and tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
- Knowledge of serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda) and when to use it effectively.
- Experience managing and automating relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across the stack.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative, team-first approach.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or equivalent are a plus.
