About the role
As our Senior ML Engineer, you will be responsible for solving complex problems related to the design, deployment, and continuous optimization of scalable machine learning platforms and production workflows. You will architect and scale our ML systems to support a rapidly growing number of machine learning models, serving millions of real-time predictions daily for our Fortune 500 and other large e-commerce customers. Your work will directly impact the performance, reliability, and scalability of our machine learning solutions, contributing to the success of the Shipium platform and ensuring seamless operations across our customer base.
What you'll do
- Architect and implement a scalable, high-performance machine learning platform to support model development, deployment, monitoring, and analysis.
- Ensure the platform supports a wide range of ML use cases, including real-time prediction serving, batch processing, and model experimentation.
- Optimize system performance and model latency to ensure robust, low‑latency inference across distributed systems.
- Identify bottlenecks in data pipelines and model serving systems, and implement solutions to improve throughput and efficiency.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to enhance ML infrastructure, monitoring, and scalability.
- Design and build tools and workflows to streamline the ML lifecycle, enabling data scientists to iterate quickly and efficiently.
- Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for model rollouts and updates, leveraging Git, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and other DevOps tooling.
- Establish and monitor production shadow testing environments to validate model performance in a production-like setting.
- Collaborate with data scientists to explore new algorithms and techniques, translating research into production-ready models.
- Contribute to the overall quality of the codebase, ensuring maintainability and best practices.
- Drive ML / DS best practices, give technical recommendations on challenging problems.
- Play a key role in driving team planning and prioritization processes, effectively identifying and communicating critical tradeoffs to maximize team effectiveness and deliver measurable business value.
