About the role:
The Carrier Operations Program Manager is a crucial role responsible for the successful integration and management of Shipium's carrier network. This position oversees the complete lifecycle of carrier onboarding and ongoing operations, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. The role requires cross-functional collaboration, influencing leaders and team members across departments to foster a culture of innovation, efficiency, and excellence. This is achieved through data-driven insights and collaborative initiatives with carrier partners. Key to this role is collecting and interpreting data, identifying faults, and preparing recommendations to enhance company and customer operations through effective program and project management.
What you'll do:
- Support the end-to-end carrier onboarding process, including rate card analysis and technical support.
- Manage the configuration of carrier settings within our systems, such as rate cards, service levels, and routing rules.
- Collaborate with engineering to resolve technical integration issues and ensure smooth data flow between our systems and carrier platforms.
- Analyze input requirements, envision desired system outputs, and clearly articulate these needs to engineering teams.
- Collect and interpret data, identify faults, and prepare recommendations to improve company and customer operations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for carrier integrations and operational processes.
- Monitor carrier performance against key metrics, including on-time delivery, service levels, and cost.
- Proactively address carrier-related issues and escalations to ensure timely resolution.
- Manage carrier relationships and foster strong partnerships.
- Plan and execute projects related to carrier operations, including system enhancements, process improvements, and new carrier integrations.
- Develop project plans, and timelines, and track progress against these targets.
- Manage Jira tickets related to carrier operations and ensure timely resolution.
- Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders effectively.
- Prepare reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Leverage data analysis to inform strategic decisions related to carrier selection and network optimization.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of transportation industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years related experience in a logistics and/or transportation-based analyst role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with parcel/final mile carrier operations, transportation management, and/or supply chain management.
- Experience with carrier onboarding and the integration process.
- Experience with rate cards and/or contract negotiation(s).
- Experience with self-service data extraction (SQL), analysis, reporting, and visualization tools (BI platforms).
- Exposure to project management software.
- Preference for TMS software, e-comm industry experience, and knowledge of API integrations.
