We are looking for a technical Pre-Sales Engineer to join Pecan and play a key role in our go-to-market motion.
This role sits at the intersection of technology, data, and sales partnering closely with Sales to build trust with prospective customers, deeply understand their business challenges, and demonstrate how Pecan.ai can drive real value.
You will act as a trusted technical advisor during the sales process, helping prospects feel confident not only in the product, but in Pecan as a partner.
What You’ll do
- Partner closely with Sales to support the full pre-sales cycle from first technical conversation through deal close.
- Lead technical discovery sessions to understand prospects’ data, use cases, constraints, and success criteria, and deliver in-depth platform demonstrations.
- Build strong technical relationships with prospects and act as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process
- Assess customer data readiness and technical fit for Pecan’s solution
- Support technical evaluations, pilots, and proof-of-concepts when needed
- Answer technical, data-related, and architecture questions during the sales cycle
- Work closely with Product, R&D, and Solutions teams to represent customer needs and feedback
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of experience in Pre-Sales, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, or similar customer-facing technical roles
- Strong technical background with data-driven systems (analytics, data platforms, ML-based products, or AI solutions)
- Hands-on experience with SQL and data modeling, and familiarity with modern data engineering stacks.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven experience supporting sales cycles and building trust with prospective customers
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with ML-based products (even if not building models yourself)
- Experience in B2B SaaS, especially selling to data-driven teams
