The Challenge

We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer with a passion for solving problems to join our agile Product Engineering team at OneTrust. Principal Software Engineers are responsible for developing, contributing to decisions related to design and architecture of new frontend features while supporting existing development efforts for our industry-leading platform.

Your Mission

As a Platform Frontend Engineer, you will operate with a platform-first mindset, building and evolving UI capabilities that scale consistently across the entire product ecosystem. You will partner closely with UX, Product, and UI Architecture teams to design and deliver standardized, reusable UI building blocks (organisms/patterns) that enable multiple product teams to build consistent, high-quality experiences efficiently.

You will focus on creating framework-level solutions rather than feature-level implementations, ensuring that all UI components are extensible, composable, and aligned with platform standards. Your work will directly influence how frontend solutions are built across teams by driving consistency, reusability, and long-term scalability.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in JavaScript and Angular, along with deep experience in building platform-grade UI systems, including design systems, component libraries, and shared frameworks. You should have a strong understanding of how to abstract common patterns and deliver robust, reusable, and performance-optimized components that seamlessly integrate across diverse applications.

What You’ll Drive

  • Develop platform-level UI components and patterns that are reused across multiple products and teams

  • Establish and enforce frontend standards, architecture, and best practices across the organization

  • Build and maintain scalable component libraries and design system integrations

  • Partner with UX and product teams to translate design into flexible, reusable abstractions rather than one-off implementations

  • Ensure UI solutions are consistent, accessible, performant, and responsive at scale

  • Enable product teams by providing clear contracts, documentation, and extensibility models

  • Continuously evolve the frontend platform to support multi-team, multi-product use cases

Development

· Support development ofweb and mobile interfaces for product module or new prototypes using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript and/or the designing, development, and unit testing of applications deployed to MS Azure while assisting with cloud application architecture using Drupal, Python, Core Java, REST, and the Spring ecosystem

· Achieve at least 80+% code coverage or per the revised standards set by the team

Collaboration

· Work closely with UX, Product Managers and/or Product Owners, as well as other developers to contribute to planning and grooming sessionsand drive team’s discussions on system architecture and component design

· Support the team to ensure all committed stories for the sprint are completed per the sprint goal

Support

· Work toward reducing total number of defects in the module/product to industry standards by catching and fixing issues early in development

· Ensure critical and high priority CII’s are delivered per SLA

Code Review

· Conductpeer reviews to improve code quality

· Help junior developers follow development testing, exploratory testing, AI testing and/or test automation

Lead

· Help build high-performing teams, grow and mentor the technical skills within the team and create development opportunities for them

You Are

A self-learner who is open to new technologies, processes, or techniques to improve your ability to deliver high-quality software.Someone who asks questions to clarify gaps in understanding.

Your Experience Includes

· Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical or business field

· 8+ years of professional software development experience

· Experience building and/or contributing to a component library.

· Expert coding and design skills in Angular.

· Expert coding and design skills using CSS & SCSS.

· Strong understanding of design and creating an amazing user experience.

· Experience using design systems and implementing tokenization and theming.

· Product development experience building large scale web applications.

· Care deeply about writing high-performance, reusable code for components that will be used across our product.

· Passionate about creating an inclusive and accessible user experience following WCAG compliance standards.

· Experience with internationalization and localization.

· Can work and communicate effectively with multiple teams and interested parties.

· Familiar with responsive and multi-screen size design and implementation.

· Understanding of versioning, breaking changes, and LTS.

· Proficiency with reusable web components, custom elements, and shadow DOM.

· Has experience with driving and innovating practices and implementation of a component library.

Extra Awesome

· BS degree in CS or equivalent work experience.

· Experience working with Micro-frontends.

· Experience using Figma.
