Role
This is an opportunity to own the vision and execution for AI-powered experiences in Octopus.
We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to join our team focused on laying the groundwork for AI in Octopus. You will do this not through one big bet, but by shipping a series of small, valuable, and focused AI-powered experiences, learning as we do. Ultimately, your team’s goal will be to democratize AI as a tool for all our product teams to use to solve customer problems.
This is a remote role based in Australia or New Zealand.

What you’ll do:

  • Research the capabilities of AI models and how they might be applied to the problems of Octopus customers.
  • Study other products, developing strong opinions on where AI is used successfully (and not)
  • Collaborate with your team’s design, engineering, and marketing folks to experiment with new ideas and implement validated ones.
  • Inspire and excite the team to do the best work of their careers through stories of the purpose and impact of their work

We’re looking for someone like you who:

  • Has multiple years of experience working on a developer, infrastructure, or enterprise B2B SaaS product.
  • Utilises qualitative and quantitative research, experiments, and hypotheses to uncover new opportunities.
  • Fosters a highly collaborative approach, creating alignment among executives, decision-makers, and influencers.
  • Is genuinely excited about technology, specifically AI, and is willing to dive deep to understand its power to shape user experiences.
Compensation:
Octopus has an internally open and transparent system for compensation. Any Octonaut can view the compensation for any role at any level. This ensures people doing the same work with the same skill get paid the same.
The compensation for this role is:
Level 4 - Senior Product Manager
Maturing: $170k AUD / $180k NZD, Performing: $185k AUD / $195k NZD
Salaries exclude Super and KiwiSaver.
Benefits include a minimum of 25 days annual leave, up to 10 days of paid sick and carers leave, 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave with flexible return options, and stock options. Learn more.
