WORK ENVIRONMENT:
We are primarily a remote-first company, but you may need to travel to visit client sites or attend meetings at designated locations with your team members.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Applied AI Team Lead is the leader of the Applied AI Analyst practice, responsible for ensuring the team operates effectively, delivers impact, and scales consistently across the enterprise. This is a player-coach role—balancing individual contribution with leadership of the analyst cohort under the direction of the CEO.
This role holds coordinative leadership (not formal people management), guiding how Applied AI Analysts work, collaborate, and deliver value. The Team Lead ensures alignment, removes friction, and acts as the CEO’s early warning system across all AI analyst initiatives. Coordination and leadership responsibilities should consume no more than 30–40% of their time.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the Applied AI Analyst practice, ensuring consistent quality, impact, and ways of working across all analysts
- Runs the weekly Applied AI Practice sync—focused on surfacing cross-functional insights and connections, not just status updates
- Maintains and evolves the shared toolkit: prompt libraries, problem framing templates, output standards, and AI tool configurations
- Acts as the CEO’s early signal system, identifying when analysts are blocked, workstreams drift, or timelines are at risk
- Removes cross-functional blockers that do not require CEO intervention (tools, data access, coordination)
- Guides and supports analysts in structuring problems, prioritizing work, and delivering high-quality outputs
- Owns onboarding for new analysts, including tools, methods, and practice norms
- Manages logistics and documentation for all related projects
Ideal Candidate
- 8 - 12 years relevant experience
- A natural team leader and integrator—someone others gravitate toward for direction and clarity
- Comfortable leading high-performing, peer-level talent without relying on formal authority
- Strong operator with the ability to maintain structure, cadence, and follow-through
- Able to quickly distinguish between technical blockers and organizational resistance
- Intellectually secure, collaborative, and focused on elevating overall team performance
- Experienced enough to navigate cross-functional dynamics and executive expectations
BENEFITS:
- Annual Cash Bonus and Equity Options commensurate with the role level and experience
- 100% Remote
- 401(k) plan
- Insurance - Health, Dental and Vision
