The Associate Tax Specialist will assist in the preparation and review of federal, multi-state, and international corporate income tax returns. This role also supports audit defense, tax research, and financial reporting for income taxes. Additionally, the position contributes to general tax compliance efforts, ensuring that miscellaneous taxes are accurately maintained and filed on time.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and capable of working collaboratively across various departments within the organization under guidance.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing compliance duties for the company's entities with a focus on compliance and planning
  • Support the preparation of the quarterly and year-end accounting for income tax (ASC 740) provision
  • Research tax issues and assist in tax planning projects
  • Prepare calculations of estimated tax payments
  • Contribute to all tax-related audits
  • Assist with internal control compliance
  • Analyze and assist with the international transfer pricing strategy in place with foreign subsidiaries
  • Manage various notices from tax authorities
  • Prepare indirect tax filings, such as sales, VAT, property tax returns, and annual reports as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
  • 0–2 years of public/private accounting experience
  • Ability to perform tax research
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in a team environment and with all levels of management
  • Strong PC skills, including high proficiency in Excel
  • Strong work ethic and a team player
  • High degree of professionalism with the ability to handle difficult, sensitive, and confidential material
  • Exceptional aptitude for accuracy and timeliness
  • Flexible and dependable

Desired:

  • Master’s Degree (Accounting, MBA, Finance)
  • CPA certification
  • Knowledge of tax compliance
  • Exposure to ASC 740

The pay range for this role is based on relative market data and alignment with our compensation philosophy. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum of the pay range for each job posting, which is used to determine new hire rates/salaries and takes into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, abilities, proficiencies, experience, education, licensures/certifications, as well as business and organizational needs. nCino reserves the right to modify the posted range consistent with our internal practices and external market movement. The base salary range for this job is:

$23.37 - $36.20
