People Operations Manager (m/f/d)
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented People Operations Manager to join our team in Berlin. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the entire employee lifecycle—ensuring smooth, compliant, and high-quality processes from onboarding to off boarding. You’ll be the first point of contact for employee queries, a guardian of our HR systems, and a key partner in driving continuous improvement across our People operations.
You will:
- Lead onboarding, off boarding, and internal transitions with a focus on delivering a consistent, engaging, and compliant experience
- Ensure all HR policies, processes, and documentation comply with local labor laws and internal standards; support audits and internal reporting as needed
- Partner closely with Finance, IT, Legal, and other departments to support cross-functional initiatives and audits
- Identify and implement ways to optimise operational workflows, enhance employee experience, and increase automation across People Ops
- Manage a dynamic and collaborative payroll process each month, working closely with Finance and external partners to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Provide timely and professional support through our Jira-based HR ticketing system
- Draft, review, and maintain contracts, amendments, reference letters, and other HR documents in both English and German
The next Moonfarian:
- At least 5 years’ experience in People/HR Operations in a fast-paced, international environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
- Fluency in both English and German (written and spoken); native-level preferred
- Deep knowledge of European labor law and HR compliance
- Hands-on experience with HRIS (Personio, BambooHR, or similar) and Jira or similar ticketing tools
- Excellent attention to detail, structured way of working, and a continuous improvement mindset
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate confidential matters with discretion
