Job Description:
Success in the Role:
Within 30 days of employment, become knowledgeable toward competence with a variety of Momentive Software revenue systems, revenue rules, guidelines, and standard operations from review of the Momentive Software revenue policy and materials.
You will become a Momentive Software subject matter expert for revenue projects currently in progress as it relates to revenue recognition under ASC 606, as well as potential for taking ownership for the set up and management of potential new projects.
Pivotal processes to be documented and controls set up in line with Momentive software standards.
In this role you will:
Perform at a high and hands-on level in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes as it relates to revenue recognition and current standards.
Analyze and review accounts and accounting cycles, prep and review balance sheet recons and handle documentation of accounting workflows as it relates to revenue.
Prepare Revenue GL account analysis
Prepare balance sheet and P&L analysis for revenue accounts with associated subledger detail and waterfalls
Develop and update departmental policies and procedures
Assist in monthly quarterly and annual closings.
Assist in preparation of financial statements and support as it relates to revenue accounting (US GAAP).
Manage and review the daily tasks of our Revenue Accountant located in India
Prepare sales commission deferral calculations and update/develop commission assumptions
We are looking for someone who brings:
Experience 5+ years of progressive financial analysis and reporting experience in industry or with a major public accounting firm.
Strong financial background and revenue recognition experience.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Analysis of accounting treatment with thorough understanding of ASC 606.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral.
CPA Required or equivalent experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
Expertise and proficiency in building financial and decision support models
