The Data Platform team powers Lightricks' data-driven innovation by building cutting-edge systems that transform raw information into actionable insights. We create sophisticated solutions across the entire data stack, from intuitive self-service analytics and seamless media ingestion to lightning-fast event processing and sophisticated A/B testing frameworks. Our team operates at the intersection of big data and user experience, designing robust platforms that balance privacy protection with cost efficiency. What you will be doing

  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering professional growth and collaboration while putting a strong emphasis on engineering excellence.
  • Evolve our architecture and infrastructure to support the growing scale of users, features, and data.
  • Build strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the company, and develop a deep understanding of the business vision to ensure the data platform continues to meet evolving needs while maintaining technical excellence.
  • Define and monitor metrics and KPIs to measure the health, performance, and impact of our data systems, continuously optimizing for scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Have full responsibility for data compliance in the organization and lead the design and implementation of data compliance and privacy processes.

Your skills and experience

  • 2+ years of experience leading and mentoring a technical team, managing projects, aligning with business needs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and optimizing scalable and highly available backend systems.
  • Strong ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and adapt quickly to shifting demands and specifications.
  • Experience designing and building data-intensive architecture.
  • Experience managing payloads running on a major cloud provider.
  • Familiarity with global privacy and security regulations and certification processes (GDPR, CCPA, SOC, etc.) and a strong understanding of data privacy best practices

Preferred Requirements

  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and relational databases, along with a solid understanding of ETL and data warehousing concepts and frameworks.
  • Experience with functional programming and stream processing technologies (e.g., Flink, Storm, Spark Streaming), including hands-on design and optimization.
  • Experience running payloads at a major scale, handling tens of thousands of events per second from multiple sources.
