Lakeside Software is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support the global accounting function, with primary responsibility for month-end close, financial reporting, and operational accounting activities. This role will partner closely with internal teams and external advisors to ensure accurate financial records, timely close, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and international requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Global Accounting & Close
o Support and execute the global month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and close-related analyses
o Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
o Perform variance analysis and provide clear explanations of period-over-period changes
Operational Accounting
o Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, and payment support
o Review and process employee expense reports in compliance with company policy
o Support payroll accounting, including accruals, reconciliations, and coordination with payroll providers
o Support billing activities and assist with collections efforts as needed
Tax & International Accounting
o Support sales and use (S&U) tax management and compliance
o Assist with VAT returns and international indirect tax filings
o Collaborate with external advisors on U.S. and statutory tax and accounting requirements
Financial Reporting & Audit
o Prepare and support internal and external financial reporting deliverables
o Support U.S. GAAP audits and statutory audits for international entities, including audit schedules and documentation
o Assist in maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Ad-Hoc & Cross-Functional Support
o Participate in ad-hoc accounting projects, process improvements, and system enhancements
o Partner with FP&A, HR, Legal, and Operations to support accurate financial reporting
o Provide general accounting support as the company continues to scale globally
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
· 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience (industry or public accounting)
· Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
· Hands-on experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
· Experience with AP, expense reports, billing, and payroll accounting
· Advanced Excel skills
Preferred
· Experience supporting international entities and multi-currency environments
· Exposure to VAT, sales & use tax, or other indirect taxes
· Audit support experience (Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting a plus)
· CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
· Experience with ERP systems and accounting automation tools
