Your future position
As a Junior Container Shipping Analyst, you will produce market analysis on global container shipping using Kpler's Container Intelligence data, translating data into actionable insights for clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce regular and ad-hoc analysis on container shipping trends (vessel utilisation, trade flows, terminal performances, disruptions)

  • Monitor key trade lanes and provide commentary on supply/demand dynamics

  • Track port and terminal performance metrics

  • Support client-facing reports and thought leadership content

  • Respond to client and internal data requests

  • Provide domain expertise feedback to the product team

Experience & Background

    Essential:

  • 1–3 years at a shipping line, terminal operator, or port authority; practical knowledge of container shipping operations and market dynamics.


  • Desirable:

  • Desirable: Familiarity with data platforms (Alphaliner, Drewry etc.); exposure to commercial or planning functions

Skills & Competencies

    Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Data analysis (Excel, Python or SQL a plus)

  • Strong written English

  • Understanding of vessel scheduling and service structure

  • Behavioural Competencies:

  • Curious, detail-oriented, collaborative, able to work autonomously

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, International Trade, Economics, or equivalent. Relevant experience considered in lieu
