Our industry leading SaaS solution is built by Marketers, for Marketers. We know that it’s the small things that make the biggest impact and that emails and landing pages are where the rubber hits the road when it comes to Marketing Automation. We change the way Marketers work by making them more efficient, while improving conversion rate of their campaigns and helping them stay on brand.

Our Engineering Team:

At Knak, we build groundbreaking software used by marketers at many of the world’s top companies. As engineers, we foster a transparent, collaborative and blameless culture. We emphasize continuous learning and encourage our engineers to experiment in search of creative ways to solve problems and help our customers.

We currently have four engineering teams, each with 4–6 developers, focused on advancing key areas of the Knak platform. This opportunity is to lead the Editor Team - the group responsible for Knak’s email and landing page builder, the Editor Team sits at the heart of our product. It’s where a lot of our users spend the majority of their time, and it plays a critical role in delivering on our promise of beautiful, intuitive, no-code campaign creation. Leading this team means shaping the future of the Knak experience and driving impact across our entire customer base.

Mission

Lead a team of 6 high performing software engineers to deliver reliable, scalable, and intuitive editing experiences for Knak users while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

Outcomes (What success looks like)

In the first 12–18 months, you will:

  1. Lead successful delivery of key editor features to ensure Knak has the best email editor in the world
  • In collaboration with a product manager and UX designer, deliver key improvements to the Knak Editor that measurably enhance the user experience and editor adoption—resulting in increased builder usage, improved email editing happiness scores and improved logo win rate.

Plan and implement at least one technical initiative to ensure low error rate and optimized performance in the Knak Editor.

  1. Develop team maturity and individual growth
  • Facilitate regular 1-on-1s, growth plans, and actionable feedback for each team member.

Support each team member in achieving at least two internal career goals.

  1. Improve development processes and workflows

Implement at least two meaningful improvements to workflows, tooling, or rituals based on team feedback during the retrospectives that you conduct.Work with our support team to help improve our support processes and reduce the number of bugs that our customers experience in the Knak Editor.

  1. Influence cross-team collaboration and engineering culture
  • Share your day to day experience with other team leads and leaders in engineering and collaborate on processes that will improve the way we work across the department.

Build strong relationships with product/design peers and collaborate to improve delivery predictability.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer (ideally full stack).
  • A track record of delivering complex projects with clear planning and collaboration.
  • Proven mentorship and team support experience.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring and observability tools.
  • Strong understanding of user experience principles.
  • Preferred experience includes working on complex front-end applications, such as drag-and-drop editors, design tools, or stateful UI systems with intricate workflows and dynamic interactions.
