Position Overview:
As the Director of Business Unit Finance – Cyber Resiliency/Backup, you will play a pivotal, high-visibility role in supporting one of Kaseya’s largest and most strategically important business units, directly partnering with the General Manager to drive financial performance and long-term strategic planning. The Cyber Resiliency business unit is Kaseya’s largest revenue driver, focusing on integrated Hardware-based and SaaS Backup solutions stemming from Kaseya’s landmark acquisition of Datto in 2022, valued at over $6 billion.
You will report to the VP of Product Finance and support the Product org, while also working closely with other cross-functional leaders across Infrastructure/Engineering, Operations, and Go-to-Market teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the General Manager of the business unit to provide financial insights, strategic planning, and data-backed business decision support that accelerates growth.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Own the financial planning process for the business unit, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and multi-year long-term planning to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
- Performance Reporting: Generate and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis, KPI monitoring, scenario analysis, and stress tests, with a sharp focus on actionable insights to drive growth and profitability.
- Cost Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities to optimize financial performance by analyzing costs related to product development, support, and delivery.
- Capital Planning: Ensure effective allocation and use of capital for business unit growth initiatives, focusing on investments that drive longer-term profitability and ROI.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the General Manager and other functional leaders, including Product, IT, Operations, and Engineering, to align financial strategies with operational needs and priorities.
- Financial Modeling: Develop robust, scalable financial models to support data-driven decision-making, including SaaS-specific metrics like ARR growth, churn reduction, and LTV/CAC optimization.
Requirements:
- Experience: 10-15+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, or related fields, with significant experience supporting a high-growth business unit, or applicable background in management consulting. Experience with SaaS/High Tech companies (e.g., managing subscription revenue models) strongly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business-related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Business Partnering: Proven ability to partner with general managers or senior operational leaders to drive business results, including influencing without authority.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
- Data-Driven: Analytical mindset, able to translate data into actionable insights using tools like Excel, SQL, or financial planning software (e.g., Oracle EPBCS).
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities and challenges.
