Description
We’re looking for an experienced VP of R&D to lead the company’s entire engineering organization in a fast-growing data/AI-driven environment. This role combines deep technological vision, organizational leadership, and hands-on management of managers and multi-disciplinary teams (Backend, Frontend, Data, ML, Infra, QA, DevOps). The VP R&D will be responsible for delivering core products at scale — with high velocity, enterprise-grade quality, and strict SLAs — while collaborating closely with Product, Data, Go-To-Market, and Compliance teams.

About the postion
- Leading the R&D organization with vision, clarity, and a strong focus on building and scaling high-performing teams.
- Define and execute the long-term R&D strategy and roadmap, translating business goals into measurable engineering outcomes.
- Build, scale, and lead a large, high-performing R&D organization, including managing managers and domain leaders (Managers/Directors).
- Own end-to-end delivery — from architecture and development to testing, security, monitoring, and production operations.
- Continuously improve quality, speed, and efficiency through Agile/Lean methodologies, DevOps culture, and data-driven engineering.
- Design and implement scalable data architectures — including Data Platforms, Pipelines, Lakehouse environments, and MLOps frameworks.
- Balance innovation with technical debt management; drive standards, design reviews, and production readiness processes.
- Hire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent, fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and collaboration across teams.
- Work closely with Product, Design, Legal, Compliance, and Sales to accelerate time-to-value and support enterprise-level customers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including proven track record managing managers (Managers/Directors).
- Experience leading large-scale R&D organizations with responsibility for 30+ engineers across multiple teams.
- Strong background in data systems — including Data Platforms, Pipelines, Data Warehouses/Lakes, Observability, and Data Quality.
- Hands-on experience integrating ML/AI/Analytics into products or infrastructure (MLOps, models in production – strong advantage).
- Leadership experience across multiple companies, including startups in growth stages (Seed–B/Scale-Up) and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality production systems at scale — with strong emphasis on reliability, security, and compliance.
- Deep technical understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps/Platform Engineering.
- Experience defining and tracking engineering processes and KPIs (DORA/Flow metrics, quality, SLAs) and managing executive-level stakeholders.
- Experience managing significant budgets, building organizational structures, and recruiting and mentoring senior technical leaders.
- Excellent communication skills in Hebrew and English, including technical writing and executive presentations.
