The Director, Connectivity & Integration Operations is responsible for leading the operational strategy, governance, and tooling that power Inovalon’s connectivity with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and other healthcare data systems. This leader ensures that every connection between Inovalon’s SaaS and data platforms and the broader healthcare ecosystem is secure, scalable, measurable, and repeatable.

This role combines operational excellence with deep interoperability expertise — overseeing the lifecycle of integration readiness from partner onboarding through production monitoring and optimization. The Director, Connectivity & Integration Operations will align people, processes, and platforms to accelerate connectivity and support Inovalon’s mission of enabling better outcomes through data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Connectivity Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as the operational owner for Inovalon’s EMR, RCM and Payer API ecosystems as well as health system connectivity programs.
  • Develop and maintain the standardized framework for how Inovalon products connect, exchange data, and maintain interoperability with external systems.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure connectivity capabilities align with roadmap priorities and evolving market standards (FHIR, HL7v2, X12, C-CDA).

Integration Operations Oversight

  • Own the tooling, processes, and automation infrastructure that support integration design, configuration, testing, and production deployment.
  • Define metrics and dashboards for integration performance, uptime, and partner readiness.
  • Lead root-cause and continuous-improvement efforts for connectivity incidents or data quality issues.

Tooling & Process Enablement

  • Manage the portfolio of integration tools (of commercial off the shelf tooling and internal API investments/infrastructure).
  • Champion automation and standardization across environments to improve speed, quality, and observability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to identify opportunities for integration platform enhancements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Management to align connectivity initiatives with product strategy and customer needs.
  • Work closely with Partner and Customer Success teams to ensure readiness for new EMR and EHR integrations.
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Security, and IT to ensure all connectivity meets regulatory and internal standards (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2).

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish governance mechanisms for integration design and change control.
  • Regularly review operational KPIs, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Present integration performance and strategic connectivity updates to executive leadership.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor a

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Expert-level understanding of FHIR, HL7v2, X12, and C-CDA standards and workflows.
  • Experience working with or integrating major EMRs (Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, MEDITECH, NextGen, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, etc.).
  • Proven success implementing or managing integration tools (Mirth, Rhapsody, Iguana, Redox, etc.).
  • Strong operational and leadership acumen with a history of building and improving scalable processes.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional influence skills.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare data compliance frameworks.

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 20% for internal collaboration, customer meetings, and partner engagement.

Inovalon Offers a Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$151,800$190,000 USD

This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship (e.g. H-1B, TN, or E-3). Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States as a condition of employment. (This is only applicable for US-based positions)
