Overview: The Senior Software Development Engineer L4 is expected to successfully work through complex tasks independently, understand the intricacies of the software development life cycle, and display strong adherence to fundamental software engineering principles in the production of software. This position possesses a deep understanding of the computer’s architectural design and other issues like testing and scalability of software products.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work as part of a global, cross-functional team to build and operate innovative services/platforms for Inovalon applications.
2. Take ownership of problems and continuously strive to become a better problem solver.
3. Document technical solutions and articulate these solutions to architecture group and leadership.
4. Implements complex features and contributes to architecture decisions within a team ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
5. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and partner teams to define project requirements.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system level stability or scalability issues.
7. Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to drive services optimization, cost, and security.
8. Write high quality distributed system software.
9. Works closely with PMs, QA, and DevOps for delivery.
Mentor junior engineers and provide code reviews to ensure quality.
10. Apply Agile development principles to continuously deliver value and readily adapt to evolving requirements.
11. Maintain code integrity and organization, ensuring the highest level of performance for both front-end and back-end code.
12. Drive a results-oriented culture with a strong focus on engineering excellence, execution and propagate build for scale mindset.
Job Requirements:
1. Minimum 6-10 years’ experience in software development with demonstrated leadership in complex projects, leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new or existing services/systems.
2. Strong proficiency in .NET, C#, Angular and Aurelia - build and maintain backend services using .NET, C# and frontend components using Angular and Aurelia
3. Hands-on experience with Azure services - deploy and manage applications on Azure, leveraging services like App Services, Storage Account/BLOB, Azure Automation, and SQL MI/Azure SQL Database.
4. Expertise in Snowflake and SQL (query optimization, schema design) - work with Snowflake and SQL databases for data modeling, ETL processes, and query optimization.
5. Hands-on experience with Selenium and/or Playwright for automated testing - implement automated UI and functional tests using Selenium and/or Playwright
6. Proficient in JMeter and performance tuning techniques - use JMeter and other tools to conduct performance testing, identify bottlenecks, and optimize system throughput.
7. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, IaaC/Terraform, Kubernetes, and Agile methodologies.
8. Familiarity with Containers and Kubernetes will be a plus.
9. Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor team members.
10. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance, scalability, and availability.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time).
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force.
- Subject to inside environmental conditions.
- Travel for this position will include less than 10% locally usually for training purposes.
