We’re adding a Payroll Assistant to help keep multi-entity, multi-state payroll running smoothly. You’ll verify time, maintain clean payroll data, support payroll tax workflows, and deliver outstanding service to employees. What You’ll Do
- Prepare and assist with biweekly payroll runs; verify timecards, premiums, overtime, commissions, and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll data in Paycom (new hires, rate changes, deductions, terminations).
- Help set up new tax jurisdictions; scan and log tax notices; track resolutions; assist with multi‑state compliance.
- Administer wage garnishments, child support, HSA/HRA/FSA and benefit payroll deductions.
- Generate payroll, tax, and reconciliation reports for audits and accounting close.
- Respond to pay inquiries; explain earnings statements, taxes, and deductions with a service mindset.
- Partner with HR, Benefits, and Accounting to ensure accurate funding, GL interfaces, and period close.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 2 years in payroll, HR, or accounting (multi‑state/multi‑entity experience a plus).
- Proficiency in **Paycom** (or similar HRIS), Excel (lookups, pivots), and basic report building.
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, time management, and clear communication.
- High school diploma required; associate’s in accounting/finance/HR preferred.
- Experience with payroll tax workflows (registrations, notices, reconciliations).
- Knowledge of wage & hour rules (overtime, premium pay), garnishments, and benefits funding.
