Key Responsibilities
Responsibility zone:
– Assigned tasks
– IT infrastructure documentation and compliance
– IT infrastructure design and project management
– IT infrastructure observability
Strategic tasks:
– IT infrastructure documentation governance and standartization, including BCP/DRP
– Processes and procedures improvement, implementation of best practices
– Planning and implementation of projects for the development of the IT infrastructure
– Cost-effective approach to infrastructure assets utilization
– Development of cooperations with counterparties and cross-functional teams
– Defining requirements, improving and operating a monitoring, logging and tracing solutions
– Cloud platforms ownership
– Learning and development for colleagues
Operational tasks:
– Maintain compliance evidence: policies, standards, procedures.
– Documentation review, development and maintenance
– Architecting new solutions to improve the performance, security and reliability of IT infrastructure
– Managing infrastructure modernization projects including routine automations
– Collect, analyze and formalize requirements from stakeholders, decomposition into tasks
– Coordination cloud platform governance with the related teams
– Support recovery operations and lead the documentation and optimization of recovery workflows, runbooks, and escalation paths
– Analyze observability data, incidents, and problems; produce insights and action items
– Coordination of task acceptance, verification of solution quality and compliance with SLA/SLO
– Configuring with engineers alert rules, dashboards, metrics and logs collection, etc. (reduce noise, increase signal)
– Produce load forecasts and optimization of the use of IT infrastructure assets, participation in budget planning
– Coordination with other teams and external contractors
– Mentoring and training for colleagues, as well as participating in the formation of standards and processes for the department’s work

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Analysis & Problem-Solving:
- Requirements engineering, stakeholder interviews, task decomposition.
- Systems thinking: dependency mapping, risk/impact assessment, bottleneck analysis.
- Root-cause analysis: incident timelines, 5 Whys/fishbone, corrective actions.
- Data analysis for ops: trend detection, anomaly detection, KPI/SLO tracking, basic forecasting.
Observability & Reliability:
- Observability platform design (metrics, logs, traces), alert tuning, dashboards.
- Load/performance forecasting, capacity planning, saturation signals.
- Postmortems, severity models, runbooks, prevention tracking.
Process, Governance & Documentation:
- IT infrastructure design, architecture and operational documentation, standards and policies.
- BCP/DRP planning, RTO/RPO, resilience patterns.
- Stakeholder documentation preparation and approval.
Project Management:
- IT project planning, resource allocation, risk and issue tracking, progress reporting.
- Workshop facilitation, cross-team alignment, decision logging.
- Strong presentation and objection-handling skills.
IT Infrastructure & Security:
- Linux OS, storage, backup/restore, networking basics.
- DevOps principles, security fundamentals (confidentiality, integrity, availability).
- User authentication, privileged access, vulnerability assessment, security policies, compliance.
- Data encryption fundamentals.
Cloud & Containers:
- Cloud infrastructure providers and architecture principles.
- Fault-tolerant system design, Docker and Kubernetes management.
- Cloud and Kubernetes security awareness.
AI & Automation:
- AI concepts and safe usage practices.
