Responsibilities

  • Policy & Procedure Implementation & Management:

    • Implement HR templates and guidelines, ensuring day-to-day execution within the P&C function.
    • Provide general support for HR procedures and handbooks, taking the lead on most matters where EL is only informed unless legal complexity or mandatory by law arises.
    • Draft HR policies, handbooks, and codes of conduct, collaborating with EL for review and compliance.
  • Termination & Employee Relations Compliance:

    • Manage usual terminations, with the P&C team responsible for the task and the manager accountable for the outcome, while EL is informed and consulted.
    • Take the lead on complex terminations, which involve potential risk and legal complexity, with P&C responsible and accountable, and EL consulted and informed.
    • Provide input and support for termination templates, where EL owns the legal drafting.
    • Support general negotiations with employees, including routine compensation, benefits, or conflict resolution.
    • Consult with EL on complex negotiations with employees that involve significant legal exposure or precedent-setting cases.
    • Provide information and support to EL for litigation matters.
    • Participate in pre-trial procedures for severance payments and consult with EL in extraordinary cases, while P&C is responsible and accountable.
  • Compliance Oversight & Risk Mitigation:

    • Ensure compliance regarding independent contractor classification and legal documentation, with EL being responsible and accountable for this.
    • Manage immigration and work permit processes, consulting with EL for advice on local laws.
    • Collaborate with Compliance to ensure legality of matters arising from compliance investigations.
    • Consult with EL for legal compliance of employment agreement templates.
    • Consult with EL on the feasibility of termination guidelines drafted by EL.
  • Operational Support:

    • Lead the expansion plan for new country launches, consulting with EL for legal regulations.
    • Oversee onboarding processes, keeping EL informed of any legal changes.
    • Lead performance management initiatives, involving EL only if legal issues arise.
    • Lead the hiring process legal matters, consulting with EL where required.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience, with a significant focus on HR compliance in a multinational environment.
  • Proven experience in interpreting and applying labor laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with legal counsel on HR matters.
  • Technical Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
    • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and risk management principles.
  • Leadership Skills:

    • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
    • Strong decision-making skills, particularly in ambiguous or high-pressure situations.
    • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of outcomes.
  • Project Management Skills:

    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
    • Experience in developing and implementing project plans.
  • Communication Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex and problematic topics clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders.
    • Ability to prepare and deliver impactful presentations to executive leadership.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective consultation and collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:

    • Exceptional analytical skills to identify compliance risks and develop effective solutions.
    • Ability to critically evaluate information, keep management informed and imvolved in case of ciritical issues and make sound judgments.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

    • Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization, collaborating closely with legal, operations, and other HR functions.
    • Skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal HR specialty, highly appreciated additional specilization Human Resources, Business Administration.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., JD, Master’s in Legal, HR) or Legal/HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) highly desirable.
