Responsibilities

1. Strategy Development & Execution:

  • Define, develop, and lead the regional government relations (GR) and public policy strategy.
  • Set and manage objectives (OKRs), roadmaps, and action plans tailored to regional priorities.
  • Align GR strategies with overall business goals and regional leadership vision.

2. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with:
    – Government officials and regulators
    – Policymakers and legislative bodies
    – Key opinion leaders, academia, and third parties
  • Establish and enhance the company’s brand and reputation with policy stakeholders.

3. Regulatory Affairs & Licensing:

  • Lead platform licensing efforts across multiple business verticals:
    – Ride-hailing
    – Courier
    – Intercity
    – Cargo & Other relevant sectors
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate regulatory and legislative risks.
  • Monitor and interpret existing and proposed legislation impacting operations.

4. Crisis & Risk Management:

  • Anticipate and manage political or regulatory crises.
  • Develop and execute response plans to protect business operations and reputation.

5. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage and mentor a high-performing regional GR team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
  • Implement scalable processes and strong internal communication.

6. Internal Advisory & Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders on policy and legislative issues.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Legal, Communications, Growth, Product, and Finance to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment.
  • Provide regular updates on risks and opportunities to senior leadership.

7. Budget & Operational Management:

  • Oversee and manage the regional GR budget.
  • Ensure consistent application of GR best practices and inDrive’s internal standards.

8. Global Knowledge Sharing:

  • Drive the replication of regional best practices globally.
  • Share successful advocacy programs, policy narratives, and regulatory strategies across regions.

Qualifications

Experience & Background:

  • 10+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, regulatory affairs, or a related field, preferably in a technology, transportation, or highly regulated industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully engaging with government institutions, regulators, policymakers, and legislative bodies at the national and regional levels.
  • Experience navigating complex regulatory environments, securing business licenses, and managing policy advocacy in emerging and/or mature markets.
  • Demonstrated success in crisis management, particularly in politically or reputationally sensitive environments.
  • Experience working in a high-growth, fast-paced, cross-functional environment with regional or global scale.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (e.g. Master’s, MBA, or JD) is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of political, legislative, and regulatory processes across the region.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate policy risks and opportunities into actionable business strategies.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional regional languages are highly desirable.
