The Opportunity

Join the team transforming how millions of people manage their joint and muscle health. As a Senior Product Designer on our Design System team, you will shape the enterprise tooling that empowers our clinical and product teams to deliver cohesive, intuitive, and accessible experiences at scale. You won't just build components; you will build the engine that powers our product development, ensuring every interaction our members have is consistent, accessible, and meaningful.

What You'll Accomplish

• In your first 3 months: You will audit our current component library and build trust with your engineering partners. You will ship your first set of refined components and documentation, ensuring they meet our strict accessibility and performance standards.

• In your first 6 months: You will lead the definition and rollout of a complex new pattern or component set, working across multiple product pods to ensure adoption. You will refine our governance process, making it easier for teams to propose and contribute changes.

• In your first year: You will act as a core guardian of the Hinge Health visual language, evolving our design tokens and system architecture to support new platforms and AI-powered features. You will be a go-to subject matter expert, mentoring other designers on system best practices and raising the quality bar for the entire organization.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience, with at least 2+ years specifically focused on design systems or UI libraries.

• Expert proficiency in Figma, including deep knowledge of variables, auto-layout, and complex component properties.

• Strong portfolio showcasing your ability to build and maintain design systems, with specific examples of documentation and systematic thinking.

• Visual excellence: You have an expert eye for layout, iconography, and typography, and a passion for pushing visual quality forward.

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Interaction Design, Product Design, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise platforms across mobile, desktop, and web interfaces.

• Technical fluency: Familiarity with front-end development (React, HTML, CSS) to communicate effectively with engineers.

• Motion & Prototyping: Experience with motion design and advanced prototyping to validate complex interactions.

• Passion for Health: A genuine desire to use technology to help people live pain-free lives.

Hinge Health Hybrid Model

This is a Bengaluru-based role that involves regular interaction and collaboration with Hinge Health colleagues in San Francisco, CA.

Time zones: San Francisco is the Pacific Time Zone, which is 12 hours and 30 minutes behind India Standard Time – for example, 8am in San Francisco is 8:30pm in Bengaluru. Standard working hours in San Francisco are between 8am - 6pm. For this role, applicants should be open to meetings in the late evening following India Standard Time.
