About This Role:
We’re looking for a full-time Senior Accounting Analyst to join our finance team reporting to the Sr Manager Technical Accounting. This role is a remote role based in the United States.
In this role, you’ll play a key role in supporting Gainsight’s financial integrity and operational accounting excellence by executing core accounting activities such as journal entries, reconciliations, close procedures, and financial reporting, while also contributing to complex areas like technical accounting, capitalized software, equity, and M&A. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and enjoys working cross-functionally with teams like FP&A, Legal, Business Operations, auditors, tax advisors, and external consultants. The ideal candidate brings strong skills in operational accounting, technical accounting research, and process improvement.
What You'll Do:
Participate in the global month-end close and consolidation process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and assisting in timely and accurate financial reporting and flux analyses.
Assist in the management of the monthly accounting and detailed reconciliations of commissions, partnering closely with the commission compensation teams.
Prepare and support the monthly and quarterly accounting for transactions related to debt, capitalized software, intangible assets, and equity instruments.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and scalability in systems and workflows.
Perform accounting disclosure and technical accounting research, prepare accounting memos, conclude on accounting positions for transactions and new accounting standards, and develop and maintain accounting policies in accordance with GAAP.
Contribute to accounting integrations and collaborate with the accounting team, deals team, valuation specialists, and business operations for M&A and purchase accounting purposes.
Assist in the internal control environment as it relates to overall financial transactions and processes, and regularly monitor and assess risks associated with our current and new processes.
Collaborate with external auditors on financial statement and statutory audits (preparing support for audit requests, answering audit queries, managing audit timeline and status)
Lead the preparation of the annual consolidated financial statements and related disclosures and support.
Facilitate and assist tax advisors with corporate tax returns, tax provision, and other statutory/compliance filings for domestic and international entities.
Manage and maintain the cap table and related records for equity and equity-related instruments
Participate in ad-hoc projects, system enhancements, and automation initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.
This is not a complete list of responsibilities, and the scope of the role may evolve with the needs of the team and business. This role will require occasional travel for team meetings, training, or company events.
What We're Looking For:
[Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience) and/or 8 years of related experience in Accounting and/or Audit.
3 - 5 years of Public Accounting Audit experience required.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts.
CPA (or equivalent) required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with high-growth companies, ideally in the SaaS industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask, stay organized and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical mind-set to approaching problems and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with general supervision.
Intellectual curiosity, self-starter, and solutions oriented.
Collaborative team player who enjoys an environment of continuous learning and contributing for shared success.

Our Compensation and Benefits: At Gainsight, we believe great work happens when teammates feel fully supported.
The starting base salary range for this role is $95,000 – $120,000 USD annually. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as skills, experience, and location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for an annual bonus and participation in Gainsight’s equity program.
