How you will make an impact:

Strategic Planning & Target Alignment

  • Lead development of league, department, and category targets aligned to the Long-Range Plan (LRP).
  • Translate high-level financial and fan demand targets into actionable lifecycle plans.
  • Partner with GMM, DMMs, Finance, and Fanatics Brands to align assortment breadth, depth, productivity, and product vision.
  • Manage in-season demand forecasting, open-to-buy management, and pricing decisions.

Vendor & League Partnership

  • Create and manage 1P and 3P vendor plans across key partners (Fanatics Brands, Wincraft, Mitchell & Ness, Champion, etc.).
  • Facilitate alignment meetings with stakeholders to review, adjust, and secure leadership approvals.
  • Drive vendor accountability to seasonal milestones and productivity commitments.

Seasonal Calendar Leadership

  • Own and run the seasonal milestone calendar, ensuring on-time delivery of:
    • Preliminary & Final Tops/Down Plans
    • Bottoms-Up Plans by League & Category
    • Executive Line Freezes
    • Seasonal Integration Meetings
    • Final Team/Color Adds
    • Assortment Strategy Sessions (2x/year)
    • PO Deadlines and Prebook Orders
  • Act as the single point of accountability for integrating timelines and dependencies across Planning, Merchandising, and Supply Chain.

Financial & Operational Accountability

  • Partner with Finance to achieve in-season and long-term margin, productivity, and inventory health goals.
  • Manage OTB: track and reconcile planning targets vs. actuals for sales, GM%, and inventory turn.
  • Monitor performance of key launches, programs, and events, ensuring alignment with established buying policies.
  • Ensure accurate and on-time submission of prebook POs, driving operational readiness with Sourcing, Factories, and Supply Chain.

Leadership & Influence

  • Build and lead cross-functional alignment across Planning, Merchandising, Product Development, GTM, and Finance.

What you bring to the team:

  • 10+ years of experience in merchandise planning, financial planning, or assortment strategy within retail, licensing, or consumer products.
  • Proven experience owning end-to-end seasonal planning calendars, ideally across multi-league or multi-brand environments.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with deep expertise in sales, margin, inventory, and productivity metrics.
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership; able to influence senior leaders and external partners.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced Excel/Oracle skills; experience with enterprise planning systems preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Onsite role located at our Jacksonville office (or NYC), supporting daily cross-functional engagement and business operations.
  • Minimal travel required, typically no more than a few times per year.

The Senior Director, Merchandise Planning is a strategic and operational leader responsible for driving the end-to-end seasonal planning process across leagues, brands, and categories. This role is also responsible for in-season forecasting and open to buy management. This highly visible role partners with GMM, DMMs, Finance, Fanatics Brands, and external vendor partners to deliver sales, margin, inventory health, and productivity targets. You will own the seasonal planning calendar and ensure flawless execution of critical milestones, including assortment targets, vendor plans, line freezes, seasonal integration meetings, GTM alignment, and PO deadlines. By aligning financial goals with fan demand and operational readiness, you’ll ensure Fanatics delivers the right products to the right fans at the right time.
