The Role
Fanatics is building a next-generation financial services platform designed for sports fans — one that is trusted, compliant, engaging, and deeply integrated across the Fanatics ecosystem. We are seeking a Director of Product, Financial Services to report directly to the Head of Product, Financial Services and lead the development of zero-to-one financial services products.
This is a highly execution-focused leadership role. You will own broad problem spaces rather than a single feature area, take products from concept to market, and lead teams through ambiguity. Success in this role requires comfort operating hands-on, setting clear direction, and delivering measurable outcomes in a fast-moving, regulated environment.
What You’ll Do:
Product Strategy & Zero-to-One Ownership
- Own end-to-end product development for new and emerging financial services products, from early discovery and validation through launch and iteration.
- Translate high-level company and Financial Services strategy into concrete product visions, roadmaps, and execution plans.
- Define success metrics and be accountable for KPIs related to adoption, engagement, trust, and operational performance.
- Identify and validate customer problems, balancing fan experience, regulatory requirements, and business goals.
- Leverage the broader Fanatics ecosystem (commerce, loyalty, content, betting, and fandom) to create differentiated, cross-platform financial experiences.
Execution & Delivery Excellence
- Lead teams through ambiguous problem spaces with a strong bias toward action and delivery.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data, and Operations to ship high-quality, scalable products.
- Drive rigorous product discovery, prioritization, and execution using customer insights, experimentation, and analytics.
- Ensure all product solutions meet regulatory and compliance standards, including KYC/AML, consumer protection, and data privacy.
- Continuously improve product quality by reducing friction, failure rates, and operational burden.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
- Serve as a primary product partner to Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Operations teams.
- Clearly communicate product direction, tradeoffs, and progress to senior leaders.
- Align dependencies and roadmaps across Fanatics teams to enable efficient execution.
What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of progressive product management experience, including people leadership, in consumer fintech, financial services, payments, or other regulated digital products.
- Demonstrated success building and launching zero-to-one products in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Strong execution mindset with a track record of shipping products that deliver measurable customer and business impact.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations in financial product development, with experience partnering closely with legal and compliance teams.
- Data-driven approach to decision-making, including defining KPIs, running experiments, and iterating based on results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex problems and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Comfort operating at the Director level within a high-growth organization — setting direction, making tradeoffs, and driving outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building consumer-facing financial products at scale.
- Background in zero-to-one product development or platform buildouts.
- Experience operating in multi-product or ecosystem-driven companies.
- Passion for sports, fandom, and consumer entertainment products.
The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $275,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
