Senior EDI Analyst
Fanatics
EDI Analyst / Developer – Brands EDI
Team: Brands EDI
Level: Senior
About the Team
The Brands EDI team supports EDI integrations for Fanatics’ Wholesale / Brands business. We enable reliable data exchange between Fanatics and external trading partners by building, maintaining, and supporting EDI integrations that power orders, invoices, shipping notices, and other critical business documents.
This team works closely with customers and internal operations teams. Much of the environment includes well-documented but legacy systems, and success in this role requires a mix of technical skill, curiosity, and a strong “get it done” mindset.
About the Role
We’re looking for an EDI Analyst / Developer with hands-on experience building and supporting EDI integrations. This role blends EDI mapping, partner coordination, production support, and light development work.
You’ll work directly with both trading partners and internal teams to onboard new integrations, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve the processes and tooling that support EDI operations. While deep EDI expertise is essential, familiarity with broader engineering concepts (databases, source control, scripting) will help you be successful.
What You’ll Work On
- Collaborating with customers to establish and maintain EDI connections, define data requirements, and ensure smooth data exchange
- Developing, maintaining, and updating EDI maps using IBM Sterling Integrator / Flex
- Facilitating the exchange of EDI transactions such as orders (850), invoices (810), shipping notices (856), and related documents
- Conducting testing and validation of EDI transactions to ensure data integrity and adherence to partner specifications
- Providing production support for EDI flows, including incident investigation, partner communication, and resolution
- Improving the efficiency of production support processes, such as streamlining incident intake, and documentation.
- Supporting the onboarding of new trading partners, including testing, certification, and go-live coordination
- Making and managing mapping or configuration changes using source control (GitHub)
Core Responsibilities
- Own EDI mappings and partner integrations end-to-end, from onboarding through production support
- Troubleshoot EDI failures across mapping, transport, and data layers
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners during incidents and integration changes
- Maintain accurate documentation for mappings, partner requirements, and support procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and reduce manual effort
- Balance day-to-day production support with longer-term process and reliability improvements
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working with EDI
- In-depth understanding of EDI standards, protocols, and data exchange processes
- Experience working directly with trading partners on onboarding, testing, and issue resolution
- Comfort working in production environments and responding to support tickets
Nice to Have
- Experience with IBM Sterling Integrator / Flex, including EDI mapping
- Experience with 4GL or similar scripting / programming languages
- SQL experience for querying and validating EDI-related data
- Familiarity with GitHub or other source control systems
- Ecommerce, wholesale, supply chain, or logistics domain experience
- Exposure to engineering concepts such as databases, APIs, or message-based systems
How You’ll Be Successful
- You have a strong “get it done” mindset and are comfortable working through ambiguity
- You’re willing to dig into legacy systems and processes, even when answers aren’t obvious
- You communicate clearly with both technical teams and non-technical partners
- You can work independently while leveraging limited but focused mentorship and knowledge transfer
- You take pride in making operational processes more efficient and reliable over time
