Software Engineer (Mid-Level) – Commerce Integrations
Team: Commerce Integrations
Level: Mid-level Software Engineer

About the Team

The Commerce Integrations team builds and operates the backbone of Fanatics’ ecommerce integrations. We own critical flows that connect vendors, logistics partners, and internal systems, including EDI, vendor compliance tooling, and a set of integration services historically built on MuleSoft (FIT).

We’re in the middle of a major transformation:

  • Migrating EDI partners from third-party managed services to in-house platforms
  • Increasing data availability and observability for compliance and reconciliation
  • Modernizing legacy integration services as part of broader cloud migration efforts

What You’ll Work On

As a Software Engineer on the Commerce Integrations team, you’ll contribute to the design, development, and operation of integration services that power ecommerce workflows at scale. Your work may include:

  • Building and maintaining Golang services that process, validate, and route ecommerce and EDI data
  • Supporting EDI partner and FIT services in production while improving observability, resiliency, and operational efficiency through automation and platform improvements
  • Developing data pipelines and reconciliation tooling to improve data availability and reduce manual analyst effort
  • Helping migrate legacy, on-prem, or MuleSoft-based services to cloud-native AWS architectures
  • Collaborating with product managers, analysts, and partner teams to understand integration requirements
  • Participating in on-call rotations and contributing to production stability and incident response

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain backend services with a focus on reliability and scalability
  • Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
  • Debug and resolve issues across distributed systems and integration boundaries
  • Contribute to cloud migration efforts, including refactoring and re-platforming services
  • Improve monitoring, logging, and observability for critical commerce workflows
  • Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and sprint planning
  • Provide production support for EDI partner integrations and FIT (MuleSoft-based) services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and coordinating fixes across internal teams and external partners

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience building backend services in Golang (or strong experience in another language with willingness to ramp quickly)
  • Solid understanding of relational databases, especially Postgres
  • Experience working with AWS
  • Familiarity with message-based systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS, or similar)
  • Comfort working in distributed systems and integration-heavy environments

Nice to Have (but not required)

  • Ecommerce, supply chain, logistics, or vendor compliance experience
  • Exposure to MuleSoft
  • Experience supporting or executing cloud migrations
  • Familiarity with reconciliation, data quality, or operational reporting systems
  • Experience supporting EDI flows via OpenText, VANs, or similar third-party B2B integration providers
