The Role
As a Senior Platform Engineer at Fanatics, you will be a key contributor to the design, delivery, and reliability of our platform infrastructure. You’ll be part of the Platform Engineering team within the Fan Ecosystem organization, working closely with product and application engineering teams to build scalable, reliable, and developer-friendly platform capabilities.
This role emphasizes strong technical execution, ownership of complex systems, and collaboration across teams to improve developer experience, system reliability, and operational excellence. You will contribute to foundational platform initiatives while helping evolve best practices and standards across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable platform services and infrastructure supporting Fanatics’ technology ecosystem.
- Build and improve developer tooling, automation, and CI/CD workflows to streamline software delivery.
- Contribute to observability initiatives, including logging, metrics, and alerting, to improve system reliability and incident response.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform to ensure consistent and secure environments.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment speed and reliability.
- Partner with application and platform teams to improve performance, scalability, and reliability in cloud-native environments.
- Participate in incident response, post-incident reviews, and reliability improvements.
- Advocate for best practices in infrastructure, software delivery, and operational excellence.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
- Continuously learn and apply new technologies and approaches to platform engineering challenges.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong software engineering background with experience in backend systems and distributed architectures.
- Solid experience with cloud platforms, with AWS experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling; familiarity with GitHub Actions is a plus.
- Experience running workloads in Kubernetes and containerized production environments.
- Working knowledge of observability tools and practices, including logging, metrics, and alerting.
- Experience participating in incident management and operational support for production systems.
- Proficiency in Go or Python is preferred; experience with Java or Kotlin is a plus.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Pragmatic, outcome-oriented mindset focused on delivering reliable platform solutions.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

The salary range for this position is $161,500 to $212,500, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
