About Us

We are a startup building products to transform the trading card industry. We aren’t a startup in the traditional sense, though. While we are a small team building new products from the ground up, we also have the backing of Fanatics – the world’s largest sports merchandiser with over 900 sports relationships and more than 81 million reachable fans. We have exclusive licensing deals with the MLB, NFL, and NBA and the products we build will be used by millions of trading cards fans from day one. We are out to reinvent the trading card industry, which is a bold and ambitious mission.

What does this mean as a member of the engineering team?

  • We move fast. We have a lot to do and are looking for folks who will drive projects to completion with a sense of urgency, but not at the expense of quality, scalability, and performance.
  • We think about scale. The trading card market is large and we will be the de facto entry point into the hobby.
  • We’re pragmatic. We embrace new technologies, but not just for the sake of it.
  • We are product-focused. We’re building products that will reach millions and always tie our work back to how it will add value for our users.

The Role

As an Engineering Team Lead, you will lead a team of engineers delivering critical commercial capabilities that power our core business. You will drive execution on integrations (such as Oracle Fusion) and ensure our systems meet important compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, PCI). In this role, you’ll partner closely with product, operations, the team tech lead and stakeholders to translate business needs into reliable, scalable solutions.

Your focus will be on day-to-day team leadership, driving product delivery, efficiency and effectiveness improvements, and technical decision-making, while contributing to roadmap planning and helping shape the future of our commercial platforms. You will build a high-performing engineering team through coaching, clear expectations, and a commitment to high-quality execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers delivering features and enhancements across key commercial systems.
  • Partner with Sales, Commercial, Logistics, and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are well-defined and aligned with business and compliance needs.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and senior engineers to drive design discussions, improve system reliability, and ensure high-quality architectural decisions.
  • Work with third-party platform groups/providers (Oracle, Salesforce etc) to support integrations and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Promote best-in-class engineering practices that prioritize scalability, quality, performance, and compliance.
  • Support planning and implementation of systems related to commercial and sales processes.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and career development for engineers, supporting growth at all levels on the team.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving processes, enhancing incident response, and using data to guide iterative improvements.
  • Maintain strong communication channels with product managers and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in commerce, supply chain, or other operational domains.
  • 1–3+ years of experience managing software engineers or leading technical teams.
  • Experience integrating and maintaining complex business systems (ERP, CRM, etc.), particularly with compliance considerations (SOX, PCI).
  • Solid technical background with the ability to support architectural discussions and break down complex requirements into actionable work.
  • Familiarity with incident response practices, data-informed decision-making, and iterative process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and deliver results in fast-moving environments.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges within your scope and guide the team through ambiguity with sound judgment.

The salary range for this position is $144,000 - $180,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation.
