Overview:
Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Director, Strategic Partnerships & Business Development. Our Strategic Partnerships & Business Development team plays an integral role in defining and executing on the path toward becoming the leading sports betting and iGaming platform. The team is tasked with identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with the company’s foremost partners, including professional sports leagues and teams, media & entertainment entities, technology providers, retail betting partners, and market access partners (e.g., tribes, lottery entities, casinos, and racetracks). The team also plays a central role in exploring expansion into adjacent verticals, tasked with owning the strategic and financial analyses that drive executive decisions on new ventures and initiatives. As such, the team receives high visibility and strategic, transactional, and operational exposure across the organization.
This New York-based role will split their time between (i) optimization of partnership / business development relationships, balancing product superiority with cost efficiency, and (ii) exploration and analysis of the company’s biggest strategic growth opportunities. The Director will work cross-functionally with other teams at FBG, as well as other verticals within the Fanatics Inc. enterprise, serving as quarterback to execute on these workstreams and opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with functional teams across FBG, as well as teams across the broader Fanatics Inc. enterprise, to identify and execute on partnerships and initiatives that drive key business objectives
- Build and maintain financial models or business cases to assess the expected business impact of new ventures, partnerships, and related initiatives
- Lead new partner pitches and RFPs, and assisting in negotiations across the sports, media, and technology industries
- Develop and manage strategic partners, including providing ongoing partner support ensuring smooth execution
- Track, analyze, and measure key success metrics related to each partnership
- Stay at the forefront of sector trends that impact the partnership landscape and present broader opportunities in the market, including sports betting and iCasino legislation and taxes, as well as existing and new operators with competing or adjacent offerings
Skills and Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience working in professional services (e.g., investment banking, management consulting, etc.) and / or corporate development / strategy
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to develop new ideas / creative solutions and demonstrated experience implementing those solutions
- Experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis coupled with ability to collect relevant information, analyze, and "connect the dots" to facilitate collaboration across different parts of the business
- Deep understanding of corporate finance and accounting, with the ability to build financial analyses and business cases that help direct key business decisions
- Possesses the communication skills required to convey complex business concepts with major client decision-makers, as well as senior executives and leaders, either in one-on-one or small group presentations
- Familiarity and fluency with complex contracts and related negotiations
- Attention to detail is critical, as this role will regularly be asked to analyze a wide range of complex data points and KPIs
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment, which requires the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
- A self-motivated individual and good team player that takes accountability and ownership of own work
- Expertise using Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data and drive business insights
- Interest in sports, sports betting and iCasino, and / or adjacent industries (e.g., daily fantasy sports, prediction markets, etc.) preferred
Salary range is listed in USD; ranges will change based on country and state of residence, which are reflected in Geographical Zones defined by Fanatics Betting and Gaming. *Salary Range: $210,000 to $260,000 (Salary range incorporates all of our Geographical Compensation Zones and is subject to change as the Zone associated with the actual Offer is confirmed).
