Marketing Operations Director

We are seeking a Director of Marketing Operations. In this role, you will design the foundation that enables marketing to thrive at scale. You will optimize planning, resourcing, reporting, and workflows — turning complexity into clarity through scalable systems and repeatable processes. Rather than project managing campaigns, you will be responsible for building the infrastructure, guardrails, and tools that empower teams to deliver high-quality work effectively. This role requires strong judgement and ability to influence, as well as a deep understanding of marketing and campaign management from planning through execution. The ideal candidate thrives in matrixed environments and is passionate about creating systems that drive growth and unlock innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the planning processes for a growing team that turn big business goals into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Build reporting frameworks that effectively communicate impact, productivity, and opportunities for growth.
  • Strengthen systems and tools that let teams deliver high-volume, high-quality work without losing space for creativity.
  • Safeguard the business by partnering closely with business functions to exercise compliance and risk management across all marketing activities.
  • Set policies and standards that ensure consistency, integrity, and operational excellence.
  • Manage the leadership campaign review and approval calendar to ensure that all go to market plans have been reviewed by necessary stakeholders.
  • Own, maintain and manage all audits across the business, partnering with auditors and stakeholders to ensure strong governance, exercising mitigation plans as needed.
  • Champion team education with training on compliance, risk, and best practices.
  • Connect with Legal, Data Governance, and Commercial partners to keep marketing aligned and future-ready
  • Provide oversight of marketing technologies that fuel collaboration and efficiency.
  • Partner with business leads to manage priorities, calendarizing seasonal campaign plans and maintaining the global marketing calendar.
  • Ensure that the global campaign calendar moves with clarity, visibility, and focus.
  • Ensure resources are allocated smartly, surfacing trade-offs and opportunities early.
  • Deliver dashboards and insights that give leaders foresight into readiness and risks.
  • Continuously evolve tools and processes to help teams work smarter and focus on what matters most.

Qualifications

  • A strategic operator’s mindset — you see the big picture and design systems that make it achievable.
  • Deep expertise in marketing operations, governance, or compliance, ideally in complex or regulated industries.
  • Proven ability to build and scale processes, tools, and frameworks that empower creativity, not stifle it.
  • Confidence partnering across leadership, legal, and cross-functional teams to bring clarity and alignment.
  • 8+ years of marketing experience, including operational leadership; sportsbook or Airtable implementation experience is a plus.
  • Track record of translating ambiguous goals into concrete operational plans and actionable workstreams.
  • Comfort thriving in fast-paced, high-growth environments with shifting priorities.
  • A collaborative, problem-solving mindset with the drive to continuously learn and improve.
  • Proficiency with tools like Google Suite, Airtable, Jira, Confluence, and Slack; open to occasional travel for offsites and team events.

The expected salary range for this role is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award. *Salary range is listed in USD; actual salary will vary based on location. *Salary Range: $150,000 - $216,000 per year (actual salary will be determined in part by a successful candidate’s geographic location). In addition to base salary, bonus, and equity, full-time employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, paid time off, and other benefits like GymPass, Pet Insurance, Family Care Benefits, and more. We’ll also give you $700 to set up your home office! Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

About the Team

Launched in 2021, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is the online and retail sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics, a global digital sports platform. The Fanatics Sportsbook is available to 95% of the addressable online sports bettor market in the U.S. Fanatics Casino is currently available online in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Fanatics Betting and Gaming operates twenty-two retail sports betting locations, including the only sportsbook inside an NFL stadium at Northwest Stadium.
