Role Summary
Fanatics Collectibles is seeking a detail-oriented and highly focused Prepress Traffic Controller and Scheduler that is responsible for managing the flow of jobs through the prepress and production workflow. This role ensures all projects are scheduled efficiently, meet deadlines, and adhere to production specifications, brand and licensor requirements. The ideal candidate requires strong understanding of prepress processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate between departments to optimize workflow. Candidates with a passion for sports and entertainment are likely to align well with the company’s culture.
In this role, you will…
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for the prepress department
- Allocate resources based on job priorities, deadlines, and equipment availability
- Track and update schedules in real time to accommodate changes or delays
- Monitor and control the flow of incoming proofs through the prepress department
- Act as the liaison between design, retouching, data, assembly, CTP and quality control teams to ensure smooth job progression
- Communicate clearly with internal teams to confirm job requirements, deadlines, and changes
- Coordinate with supervisors and managers to align prepress output
- Notify stakeholders of any delays or changes that may affect delivery timelines
- Review job jackets for completeness and accuracy before scheduling
- Identify and escalate potential production issues early in the process
- Use job tracking and scheduling software to manage workflow and scheduling
- Maintain accurate records of job progress and production metrics
The ideal candidate:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in prepress or print production, with at least 2-3 years
in a scheduling/traffic coordination role - Strong understanding of prepress processes, file preparation, and digital and print production workflows
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat)
- Previous experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
- Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or PRINCE2 certification a plus
- Can pivot quickly when plans change and remain composed under tight deadlines
