Graphic Designer II - Topps Digital Trading Cards
Topps is seeking a Designer to join a collaborative and growing Apps team. This role will report to our Art Director but also work closely with the Apps’ Content Team (Producers and Content Product Manager) to develop digital trading cards across major sports licenses including Major League Baseball, as well as entertainment licenses including Star Wars and Marvel. This is a fast-paced Design role where flexibility and multi-tasking is key to support daily releases. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for innovative ideas, who takes pride in their work and wants to contribute their skills in a truly supportive team environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop original designs for digital trading cards that incorporate design direction from the Art Director, editorial direction from the Producers and Content Product Manager (Content Team), and adhere to Licensor guidelines.
Create digital trading card templates that are organized, easy to use, and optimized for fast, easy production.
Create ancillary assets such as product images, news headers, etc., as needed.
Attend Team Meetings and check in frequently with project management tools to stay informed and on-task.
Strike a balance between speed and quality.
Skills & Competencies:
Expert in Adobe CC; Photoshop, Illustrator, & Acrobat.
Proficiency with motion graphics and animation (either in Photoshop, After Effects, or Final Cut Pro) is helpful
Photo retouching and silhouetting.
Strong understanding of Layout and Typography foundational skills and trends.
Strong understanding non-destructive designing / working with Smart Objects.
Ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines across multiple projects.
Organized and attentive to detail. Accuracy is paramount.
2+ years design experience or equivalent competency.
Passion for and/or knowledge of brands in the Topps portfolio a PLUS.
Passion for and/or deep knowledge of Sports and Entertainment culture a PLUS.
In NYC, the salary range for this position is $70,000- $85,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. In Los Angeles, the salary range for this position is $64,000- $78,000. The listed salary ranges are specific to Los Angeles or NYC and may not be applicable to other locations. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
