Video Editor — Narrative / Film (Review & Evaluation)
Philippines
Type: Contract, hourly
Location: Remote (Philippines)
Schedule: Flexible
About the work
You'll watch videos and judge how well they're put together — whether the story holds up, whether the cuts work, whether the pacing carries. You'll write out your reasoning in detail. That written judgment is used to train an AI system, so we need real editorial thinking, not a rating out of ten.
Some hands-on editing work may be added later.
What you'll do
- Watch videos and assess how they're edited
- Identify problems: awkward jump cuts, broken continuity, pacing that drags or rushes
- Judge whether the story or sequence actually makes sense
- Write clear explanations of what works, what doesn't, and why
- Point to specific moments rather than giving general impressions
What we're looking for
- Professional editing experience in long-form work: short film, documentary, wedding films, long-form YouTube, or TV
- Strong DaVinci Resolve skills — this is the main software
- Fluent English, spoken and written
- Able to explain your editorial reasoning in writing, not just do the cut
- A reel or portfolio including pieces over five minutes
Helpful but not required
- Colour grading or sound experience
- Experience taking structured notes from a director or producer
Details
- Hourly rate, paid based on hours worked
- Ongoing work with room to grow — this is expected to be a long-running project
- Fully remote, flexible hours
- Requires a computer that runs DaVinci Resolve comfortably and a stable internet connection
