The Head of Business Operations & Engineering leads a central team responsible for delivering strategic, business-led initiatives that drive operational excellence, process improvement, and transformation across Exclaimer. You will manage a team including a Delivery Manager and Solutions Architect, translating operational and transformation priorities into scalable, practical solutions that improve efficiency, support growth, and embed a data-driven, customer-centric culture. You will partner closely with the Business Operations & Transformation team as the stakeholders that represent Sales, Marketing, Services, Finance, Operations to deliver on Exclaimer’s growth and transformation agenda.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team comprising of a Delivery Manager and a Solutions Architect.
- Set clear objectives and performance metrics, provide ongoing feedback, and create growth and development opportunities.
- Ensure the team operates with transparency and discipline, applying delivery frameworks and engineering best practices to track progress and demonstrate impact.
Delivery & Execution
- Ownership of the SDLC practices, including CI/CD, testing, and code reviews, supported by the Delivery Manager.
- Translate, projects, initiatives and operational requirements into scalable solutions, process improvements, and system enhancements.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery, ensuring solutions are technically sound, fit for purpose, and aligned with business goals.
- Work with the Solutions Architect to design technical and process architectures that support long-term scalability and performance.
- Manage dependencies and prioritisation, balancing tactical needs with strategic outcomes.
Communication & Transparency
- Communicate delivery progress, risks, and dependencies to Business Operations & Transformation, the Leadership Team, and other stakeholders.
- Develop dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into delivery status, outcomes, and business impact.
- Translate technical topics and delivery challenges into clear, actionable information tailored to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Business Operations & Transformation team to understand business pain points, define solutions, and shape implementation plans.
- Facilitate workshops, solution reviews, and feedback sessions to align business and technical priorities.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Significant experience leading engineering, delivery, or operations teams in a high-growth SaaS, technology, or private equity-backed environment.
- Proven track record delivering complex change initiatives and system enhancements in alignment with business transformation strategies.
- Strong understanding of business systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite) and integration best practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of bridging the gap between business and technical teams.
- Commercially aware, data-driven, and adept at prioritising in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience building and leading multi-disciplinary teams that combine delivery and architecture functions.
