- Design and execute reliable, well-documented manual test cases to validate customer-focused acceptance criteria.
- Test both functional and non-functional aspects (usability, data integrity, integrations) to ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Configure, maintain, and manage test environments to support accurate, repeatable testing.
- Lead by example by applying best practices in manual testing, ensuring that every release meets the highest quality standards.
Continuous Improvement & Automation Readiness
- Identify opportunities to “shift left” by suggesting which validated manual tests should be automated, balancing effort and business value.
- Review automated test approaches and contribute insights from manual exploratory testing to strengthen automated coverage.
- Help develop and evolve a best practice framework, including criteria for moving manual tests into automated suites.
- Drive continuous improvement by reflecting on test effectiveness, proposing process refinements, and identifying high-value candidates for automation.
Collaboration & Communication
- Participate actively in sprint planning and backlog refinement to estimate and advocate for test effort.
- Work closely with Product Owners, UX, and Engineering to define testable increments and ensure early validation of customer-focused solutions.
- Collaborate with other test engineers to share knowledge, improve tools and frameworks, and align testing strategy.
- Document bugs, edge cases, and issues clearly to support smooth investigation and verification of fixes.
- Maintain detailed, peer-reviewed test cases and scenarios as a source of truth for current functionality and future automation.
- Contribute to planning documentation by providing clear estimates and risk analysis related to testing scope.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Experience in Quality Assurance and manual testing, ideally on complex SaaS platforms or Salesforce
- Understanding of test automation concepts and when manual tests should transition to automation
- Strong analytical and exploratory testing skills to identify edge cases and integration issues
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting bugs and collaborating with teams
- Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps) and awareness of CI/CD pipelines
- Relevant certification or domain knowledge, such as Salesforce Administrator or ISTQB Foundation
- Awareness or knowledge of Agile framework and ways of working
