Director of Finance
ExaCare
Company Overview
ExaCare is a trailblazing health tech company on a mission to transform the nursing home & post-acute space. Our AI software streamlines admissions and elevates care delivery. We’ve raised $30M to date and are scaling quickly. We’re hiring a Director of Finance to build rigor, visibility, and operating leverage across the business.
About the Role:
As Director of Finance, you’ll be the company’s planning engine and financial truth-source. You will own budgeting and forecasting, monthly/quarterly reporting, unit economics, and the operating cadence that empowers leaders to make fast, data-driven decisions. You’ll partner with the CEO, RevOps, and cross-functional leaders to translate strategy into numbers—and numbers into action.
This role reports to the CEO (or CFO, if hired) and manages our accounting partner/contractors, with potential to build an internal team.
What You’ll Do
- Own FP&A: Build a driver-based model, annual plan, quarterly reforecast, headcount plan, and scenario analyses.
- Budget & BvA: Run the companywide budgeting process; deliver monthly budget-vs-actuals with insights and corrective actions.
- KPI & Reporting Cadence: Define metric taxonomy (revenue, margin, CAC/LTV, burn multiple, payback); publish weekly exec dashboards, monthly packages, and board materials.
- Revenue & Unit Economics: Partner with Sales/RevOps to improve forecast accuracy, pricing/discount governance, and pilot→rollout economics.
- Close & Controls (with Accounting): Ensure a timely, accurate monthly close; establish policies for revenue recognition (ASC 606), expense capitalization, and approvals.
- Cash & Runway: Own cash forecasting, collections oversight, vendor terms, and investment policy recommendations.
- Procurement & Spend Discipline: Implement spend approvals, vendor lifecycle tracking, and renewal calendars; reduce leakage and shadow IT.
- Data & Systems: Uplevel our tool stack (ERP, billing, BI). Drive source-of-truth models and data governance with Ops/Engineering.
- Strategic Projects: Support fundraising, pricing/packaging changes, partnerships, and potential debt facilities.
What You’ll Bring
- 6–10+ years in Finance (high-growth SaaS preferred), including meaningful FP&A ownership; prior Director or strong Manager/Senior Manager ready to step up.
- Mastery of financial modeling and forecasting; fluent in SaaS metrics and unit economics.
- Comfort with monthly close and accounting policies; can partner tightly with Controller/outsourced accounting.
- Systems savvy: Excel/Sheets power user; exposure to ERP (NetSuite/QuickBooks), CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot), BI (Looker/Mode/Metabase); basic SQL a plus.
- Builder mentality: implements lightweight processes that scale; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Bonus: healthcare or post-acute knowledge; experience with revenue operations, pricing, or debt financing.
Benefits & Perks
- Competitive salary and equity in a high-growth startup
- Flexible PTO (“take what you need”)
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Great start-up culture (e.g., ChatGPT premium, company off-sites)
- High-achieving team (ex-Amazon engineers, ex-Bain / ex-BCG / ex-Goldman)
