Come shape the future of commerce built for passion with us!

At EQL, we’re building tools for brands that don’t just have customers—they have fans.

These are the high-stakes cultural moments where passion runs deep, but the experience has often been broken: sites crash, bots win, and real fans lose out. If you’ve ever tried to score Jordans, Taylor Swift tickets, or a footy final seat, you know the frustration. EQL is changing that. We’re creating the world’s first fair launch platform to help retailers manage demand, block bad actors, and deliver seamless experiences that give real fans a fair shot.

Backed by top VCs and angels, we’re solving big, meaningful problems with smart tech and a bold, collaborative team. It’s challenging and rewarding work, and we’re building a culture where curious, kind, and ambitious people thrive. If you want to help us shape the future of fan-first commerce—even if you don’t tick every box—we would love to talk.

The role

As a Senior Product Designer at EQL, you’ll do more than design great user experiences – you’ll help shape how design happens here.

You’ll lead product design within one of our cross-functional teams, owning experiences end-to-end while partnering closely with engineering and product leadership. You’ll also play a critical role in evolving EQL’s design practice; mentoring peers, championing design quality, and actively contributing to a culture where design is deeply integrated into product thinking and decision-making.

Success in this role means delivering high-impact product experiences that empower our retail partners and their customers to succeed and elevating the team around you in the process.

What you'll do

  • Own complex design challenges end-to-end — from shaping product direction and defining the problem space, through to polished, shipped solutions.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on user experience goals and product priorities through clear communication, visual storytelling, and collaborative facilitation.
  • Form strong opinions, loosely held and lead with conviction but stay open to feedback, iteration, and evidence.
  • Embed user insights into decision-making by combining qualitative research, data analysis, and hypothesis-driven experimentation
  • Champion usability and clarity, refining even the smallest interactions to reduce friction and delight users
  • Stay close to customer feedback and usage patterns to ensure your team is solving the right problems
  • Mentor and support other designers, giving thoughtful critique, sharing context, and guiding less experienced teammates through complexity and ambiguity.
  • Model high standards for craft, systems thinking, and execution — while also teaching others how to hit that bar.
  • Play an active role in evolving EQL’s design culture through design reviews, shared rituals, documentation, and contributions to our design system and ways of working.
  • Act independently, taking initiative in ambiguous or undefined problem spaces and finding alignment with minimal direction.
  • Think in systems; ensuring the work you deliver is scalable, coherent, and consistent across the product.
  • Push the quality of our visual design, bringing creative energy to how EQL shows up with personality, polish, and care.
Who we look for
We focus on hiring values-aligned people because we believe mindset matters as much as experience. Curiosity, drive, and a willingness to learn go a long way. Working at EQL means embracing ambiguity, being okay with imperfection, and playing bigger than we are as we solve tough problems together. If that sounds like it gives you energy and are excited to grow with us, we encourage you to apply—even if you're feeling unsure.
We believe you’ll succeed in this role if you have:
  • Strong experience in commercial product design ideally within a start-up or fast-paced company where you’ve gained a solid appreciation for the need to deliver against commercial outcomes.
  • Proficient visual design skills, including a keen understanding of illustration and typography that you have used to create captivating designs.
  • Experience working with Engineers and Product Managers to identify core problems to develop solutions that are usable, feasible and viable.
  • Experience using prototyping and design tools e.g. Figma, Sketch etc.
  • Experience validating assumptions and experiments with research and data, then interpreting and utilising customer data to influence design outcomes.
  • Strong portfolio that showcases visually ambitious and creative design solutions, in addition to evidence of an eye for great user experience.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, making trade-offs and ensuring goals are aligned with the product and business.
What we offer
Fairness is not just something for our fans and retailers - it’s part of who we are which is why:
  • We provide equity in EQL - we want our team to have skin in the game and to be as invested as we are in EQL’s success. We want the people that will make EQL successful to share in that success
  • We provide competitive compensation and evaluate the market to ensure that remains true.
  • We provide a flexible work environment because we understand that everyone works differently and want to support our team to be their best
  • We provide generous time off above and beyond what we are required to because we know that well-rested people make better decisions and are more engaged - when you thrive we thrive
  • When you want to collaborate in person with other humans, we have a workplace that welcomes the whole team including their furry friends.
At EQL, diversity, equity, and inclusion are core to how we operate and grow. We’re committed to building a workforce that values and supports every individual. We believe equality strengthens our culture and drives accountability in championing diverse voices.
