Position Overview:

Our Business Applications and Analytics function plays a pivotal role in driving business success through data-driven decision-making and operational excellence. This dynamic team manages enterprise-wide applications, including ERP, CRM, and BI systems. By harnessing the power of data and advanced analytical tools, we provide valuable insights that inform strategic initiatives, optimise processes, and enhance overall performance.

As part of the Financial Applications team, the Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for analysing, optimising, and supporting business systems across Diligent’s finance technology stack. This crucial role will bridge business needs with IT solutions, driving process improvements, system automation initiatives, and supporting the adoption of AI technologies across our financial application landscape.

In this role you’ll work collaboratively with stakeholders across technology, data, and IT teams, as well as various business functions such as Finance, Accounting, Professional Services and Legal to deliver efficient, scalable, and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse, document, and evaluate business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and automation.
  • Support the implementation, integration, and enhancement of enterprise business systems and platforms such as NetSuite OneWorld, Coupa, OpenAir and OneStream.
  • Gather and analyse business requirements and work to find creative technical solutions to those challenges.
  • Lead and contribute to process automation projects, leveraging AI-enabled technologies where appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, developers, and architects to ensure solutions meet business and technical objectives.
  • Develop and deliver training and supporting documentation for end users.
  • Utilise data and analytics to provide insights and drive informed business decisions.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities to optimise or automate workflows.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in our Galway office and across global teams.
  • Work with business partners to ensure support tickets are efficiently resolved and closed out within agreed upon SLA’s.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • 2-4 years experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a similar systems-focused role.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise applications and platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, workflow automation tools).
  • Experience using NetSuite is desirable
  • Experience using Coupa, Salesforce or OpenAir would also be beneficial.
  • Interest and hands-on experience with AI, machine learning, or process automation (such as RPA, chatbot solutions, or workflow automation frameworks) is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of Finance/Accounting practices such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and invoicing, with experience of revenue recognition beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business problems and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of general systems concepts – integrations, data flows, system architecture, and core IT processes.
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation best practices.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • A pro-active approach with the ability to think outside the box
