Position Overview:
Diligent is seeking a Senior Director, Partner Sales with proven success in developing indirect software channels and a strong background in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions to lead our partner strategy in Japan. This strategic role will focus on accelerating regional growth through value-added resellers (VARs), distributors, consulting firms, and system integrators. You will own the partner go-to-market strategy for Japan and serve as the face of our ecosystem in a region that presents tremendous opportunity for expansion—especially in regulated industries such as financial services, manufacturing, and public sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute a comprehensive indirect channel strategy tailored for Japan’s software market, with a focus on GRC and adjacent enterprise risk categories.
- Identify, recruit, and onboard high-potential resellers, MSPs, and local GRC consulting partners.
- Build deep, long-term relationships with strategic partners to jointly drive market penetration and customer value.
GRC Domain Leadership
- Act as the subject matter expert on GRC use cases in Japan; support partner education, sales enablement, and localised messaging.
- Work with internal stakeholders (Product, Compliance, Sales) to align partner offerings with evolving regulatory and risk needs in Japan.
Go-to-Market & Revenue Growth
- Co-create and execute joint GTM plans with partners, including co-branded campaigns, webinars, and events.
- Own partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline and revenue targets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with regional Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Product teams in APAC to drive successful outcomes.
- Support Japan market intelligence and feedback loops for continuous refinement of GTM strategy and partner programs.
Operations & Governance
- Track partner performance through KPIs such as sourced revenue, deal registration, pipeline contribution, and certification progress.
- Provide regular reporting and forecasting for executive leadership.
Required Experience/Skills:
- 10+ years in partner/channel leadership roles, with a strong focus on the Japanese enterprise software market.
- Proven experience in GRC, cybersecurity, enterprise risk, or compliance technology.
- Demonstrated success building indirect sales channels and scaling partner revenue in Japan.
- Deep understanding of the Japanese regulatory landscape and how it impacts enterprise software purchasing.
- Fluent in Japanese (native) and English (business-level).
- Executive presence with strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred:
- Existing network of GRC resellers, consulting firms, or SI partners in Japan.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
