About The Role:

We are expanding into Mexico City and seeking an experienced HR Director to build and support our People operations at the ground level. This role is pivotal in establishing a positive, high-performance culture that aligns with our global values while tailoring support to the local workforce needs.

As our first HR presence in Mexico, you will serve as the go-to expert for local employee operations, benefits administration, and compliance. You'll closely partner with the Mexico site leader for day-to-day needs while working directly with the U.S.-based VP of HR Operations and collaborating with our Global People Business Partner team.

Responsibilities:

People Operations & HR Support

  • Serve as the local HR point of contact for Mexico-based employees.

  • Support the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring a seamless experience.

  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with local labor laws.

Benefits & Compliance

  • Understand and communicate to team members and leaders the local benefits programs (e.g. IMSS, INFONAVIT, private health insurance).

  • Partner with the Total Rewards team to optimize offerings based on local best practices and norms.

  • Provide guidance on local compliance requirements.

  • Ensure HR practices align with local regulations and global policies.

Employee Relations

  • Address employee concerns and escalate complex matters to appropriate global partners.

  • Promote a culture of feedback, transparency, and inclusion.

  • Partner with the Mexico site leader to address day-to-day people topics.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Partner with global recruiters to support hiring efforts in Mexico.

  • Deliver localized onboarding efforts and ensure new hires are set up for success.

Performance & Compensation

  • Support implementation of global performance review processes with local compliance in mind.

  • Provide input on compensation benchmarking and salary structures in line with local market data.

  • Ensure alignment with local payroll and labor laws.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a bridge between global HR strategies and local execution.

  • Regularly connect with HR leaders in the U.S. to ensure alignment and share insights.

  • Contribute to the development of HR policies, procedures, and playbooks for our Mexico entity.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • 8+ years of experience of HR experience either as a HR generalist or a people business partner with at least 2 years international experience

  • Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices across the full employee lifecycle

  • Experience handling and resolving various performance relations issues experience in documenting and partnering with Employee Relations on workplace investigations.

  • Experience with talent acquisition process and screening and interviewing candidates

  • Understanding of basic benefits administration and ability to answer employee questions

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use good judgment in decision-making

  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, to work independently and juggle competing priorities with minimal guidance and takes the utmost care with confidentiality

  • High level of emotional intelligence and a growth mindset

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

  • Ability to navigate complex situations impartially while maintaining meticulous documentation.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
